Simione Laifai

If he shows real promise with Manly you can bet he'll turn up to training one day with an expensive new Ford car, courtesy of a friendly old bloke from over the bridge, bearing news of an exciting career move.
To be fair when was the last kid we lost like that? Can not think of one we had who decided to not stay with us

Uncle Nick has upped his game. Cars and brown paper bags are sooo yesterday. Now he identifies generational talent in opposition teams, and pays them to sit on the lounge and gorge on KFC all day. 😉🤣

The who is talking about Maria Hargreaves. The story about him turning up at manly training In 2009 with a brand new ford and then signing for the somberos

To also be fair to JWH I live in Bondi and often see him around.. he's a good bloke and on a few occasions now more than happy to have a chat.. I spoke to him a few years after he signed with the Roosters and was up for a new deal....I told him to go back to the Eagles" and he said " I never wanted to leave but now.. NO Chance!" And he sounded like he really had an issue with the club or someone at the club... at the time he told me he wanted to stay at Manly, he loved the place and was a local fan who always wanted to play for Manly..but the Manly management at the time didn't show too much interest when his manager went to them with the Roosters offer.. and it wasn't "huge" money..

So really Uncle Nick doesn't take our players that easily

With a bottle of Eno and a packet of Gaviscon tablets handy.

Anyone that watches the lower grades what’s the thoughts on him? Here’s my opinion: He’s devastating when he has the ball in hands with great leg speed, size, strength, late footwork & an offload that he probably doesn’t use enough. The problem is it looks like he is in slow motion in defence when I’ve watched which could be down to his fitness.

He joins the top 30 next year so we have to hope he has a big off season as he will be going up the pecking order quite a bit with Sipley, Lodge, TKO & James all not signed past this year. In my opinion if he puts the work in he can be a gun prop leader for us. On the flip side I think he could quickly end up in Super League like a Franklin Pele who didn’t have the right mentality/lazy & has wasted his potential.

I’m really undecided on him & would like to hear the opinions of anyone else that watched him over the last year or 2

I reckon you touch on some good points, as there have been a few similar built youngsters with Huge upside, who have failed to meet the demands and speed at NRL level
But on the positive, I look forward to seeing if he does have the desire to make the Top level, as the potential is certainly there, which is a gift many youngsters wish they had.
My prediction is a bench spot by 2027.....maybe earlier, as he offers great impact to win momentum in the middle....an area we often struggle in

Big wraps in juniors however not sure if he will make it. Needs to become a lot more mobile. Interestingly he seems to continually get picked on the bench so maybe coaching staff are aware that his future is high impact off the bench on limited minutes.
It’s funny because with ball in hand he moves brilliant for a guy his size, runs like a bigger version of spencer Leniu & can add some nice late footwork in. On the opposite side he looks lethargic & lazy which would indicate his fitness levels aren’t up to standard or he doesn’t want to do the ugly work (defence).

I’ll cut him some slack that he is young & still growing into his body but at this stage you are correct that he will be nothing more then a 10 minute impact player if he doesn’t work hard.
