Thought that Paul Stevo made a good contribution at centre during his Manly stint and in that rebuilding phase .
Solid and generally a good positional and team player with some quite reasonable all round ability and passing game
Didn "t realize that he made that fairly drastic switch from front row which was even more of a credit to him but do recall him being named in the 2nd row at some stage when he moved to the Sharks..
Anyway good that post career he has managed a good and constructive connection to the code

I think the lesson for everyone on here should be that you never really know what the plan for a player is. Are they playing out of position? Are they not used to a particular style or structure? Are they being used to their strengths or are they having to cope with playing the way a coach wants them to play to fit the team dynamic. Not all are superstars that can shift so easily. How many young prodigies never make it? How many players either shine or fail when going to a different club?

I did say this earlier but Lewis Brown, when he came from the Warriors , was much maligned on here , in fact constantly maligned.

But remember, Des used him as a filler and sometimes in 2 or 3 different positions in one game. He’d be in the centres, then moved to hooker , and then a stint at lock ( all in one game).

Jeez I used to feel sorry for him as he was bashed from pillar to post afterwards.

There’s some cruel bastards on here at times.

That's why i'm always banging on about any player at the right price is a good deal. Whether its a change of scenery, culture, structure or coach a player needs, as long as you don't over pay you can't go wrong. Players get turned over all the time. You win some and you lose some. Some players are even good to keep around for experience and morale. look at Aaron Woods. He knew exactly what his job was when he came to us.

It’s why , I was so frustrated with the negativity on here regarding Woodsie.

He was clearly , fantastic around the young players , he was very articulate with the fans , and for the few games he did play , he just did the job he was there for. Was it flash , no , was it terrible , no but constantly canned for it.

I just have a feeling our two recruits are exactly what Seibold wanted , superstars , no , hard workers , absolutely.

The trouble today is we have the instant gratification society in play, they demand instant results, instant perfection , instant Premierships.

It’s an unrealistic expectation.

Used to sprout the most absolute bull**** and claiming it was gospel.

He had a cult following but eventually had to fall on his sword.

I called him out again , and knew 100% what he was saying was wrong , I think that was near the end.

He banned me again , it was hilarious

He would ban anyone from that page who didn't agree with him, called him out on things etc. Even criticising any of his favourite players would often bring a ban, permanent or 2 weeks. And IIRC he was always big noting himself, claiming that he was close to Des and close to the players and because of that he thought he was it and a bit.

Hell, that was another reason he'd ban people, those who questioned his "relationship" with the team.

Brown’s stint at Manly ran from 2016-18. In other words, Barrett’s tenure.

Hasler rejoined Manly in 2019.
