Silence from me - until now

100% agree and I'm very happy to be fully wrong re Barrett. He has turned this side around and they are playing like a really well bonded team. That was the difference tonight we played as a team and the roosters played for their own egos.

I have never, and I mean in the Des, Tooves era's seen this type of structure, attitude, latitude, magnitude, fortitude in defense. So exciting. I don't want to get TOO excited because it's only three games, but we aren't relying on individual brilliance like Baz said. These past three weeks have been team performances.

Making me so happy !!

Woodsie pretty much summed up the overhaul this site needs.

What makes someone so important that a thread needs a title announcing their opinion.

It wasn't a troll, it was a potent point.

Enough with the cliques fellas.

Hey fLIP - chill out - it's just an opinion, not an exercise in self promotion. Surprised to see you post this.

Manly are obviously on the improve but i do think the wet weather made the game a more even contest.

Manly need to improve big time in the technique of wrapping up the tackled player and slowing down the play the ball, especially since the refs are not clamping down on tunnel ball play the balls.

Lateral spreads lack spark and require better preparation beforehand, too often the Roosters picked off the second man play way too easily before it got to the outside backs.

Roosters limited spreads looked more dangerous and crisp which will hold them in good stead for the rest of the season points scoring wise.

Is that why we made 7 line breaks to 3??

How's our fitness holding up now do you think? Imagine how much better we'd be if the players were half way fit.

Putting my hand up on that one. **** me if we haven't busted our chops the last three weeks. Blake Green quoted when coming off at half time, "we know we have the endurance to roll over the top of them", or something similar to that.

Very, VERY good signs.

People are downplaying the game against The Chooks. I don't know why? They are full strength, and I think the best team in the competition. Thye scored 12 points against us !

I can't wait to see Darcy come and carry his form from last year into the momentum the boys are playing with. Great start to the year..
Uate, you legend keep it up!
Siro Jnr, well done sir!
Hastings time will come
Green, nice steering and foiling!
I think Manly could really capitalise on the fickle politics and drama that is rife in the league.. keep recruiting guys with heaps of talent that fall out with their clubs and capitalise on their drive to prove their old clubs and themselves worthy!
Walker & AFB were possibly the starting point, hopefully Lane, Hastings and one other that I've stumped myself on can do the same! :praying:

Yeah, I've noticed that as well so far this season. Play the balls are an absolute joke. People pushing up off the ball, playing it from their knees, walking sideways, forwards and any other way they choose. They'll probably pick a time for a one-week crackdown and then it'll be more of the same.
And yes, there were times our defensive line looked a little ragged, largely as a result of those play the balls. But we did clean up well and got the win, so…

I'm another who didn't think we were match fit, and didn't think much of Ferris. Glad to be proven wrong. I was really happy when Green said that, and he wasn't out of breath when he was talking. The Storm game will be the litmus test for us. Beat them, and anything is possible.

Yep, but gotta get past a raging Dragons first......win the next two and I'd agree with you.

Much like the Roosters, its bloody hard to maintain the rage week in week out, we will have a loss, and probably against one we expect to win!!

What has line breaks got to do with proving the style of game was not influenced by the weather.

The game became more of a grind, a dry game i think would of seen the Roosters spreads be more effective.

Manly are on the up, the good thing is some of our breaks this season are off the back of more footwork, offloads, playing through the line and power so not overly reliant on out and out structure.

Nice how Manly are mixing up the edge spreads and using the second man runner as a decoy and hitting flatter or lead runners occasionally.

Not sure why you think line breaks have nothing to do with coaching style & are dependent on weather.....if you state that the Roosters spreads would have been more effective in dry conditions then so would have Manly's!! Anyway the boys won & that's the main thing.
