Amazingly, tomorrow's game at Brookie is another sell out, making it 5 out of 6 games this year. In the 50 years of supporting Manly at Brookie, I can only recall a sell-out game on the odd occasion but never so many in one season and we're only at round 15 - this is unprecedented!

Despite all the negativity on here about our losses, the coach, recruitment, etc, we must be doing something right to sell out our home games, and sometimes it is days before game day. I wonder what's made the crowd come to Brookie this year compared to other years? The ticket prices aren't exactly cheap, yet the cost of living doesn't seem to have affected ticket sales.

I think it's wonderful a sell-out crowd gets behind the team, which can only help Manly get a win.
(Also hopefully the powers that be see these sell-outs and perhaps send some dollars our way to further upgrade Brookie.)

Can't judge the wider Sea Eagle fan base by what happens here... Silvertails is special, we're the only ones who realise how crap the side is! @:D

The sell outs are great and if it keeps up it will be Manly @ Brookie highest crowd average season ever.
Brookie 2024 average so far over 5 games is 15,895.

Manly in 1976 had 3 Brookie games in the mid 23-25K range.
The average for Brookie games for the 1976 season was 15,931 (11 games).

1. 15,931 (11 games) Manly 1976
2. 15,484 (11 games) Manly 2006
3. 15,171 (12 games) Manly 2005
4. 14,900 (11 games) Manly 2007
5. 14,860 (11 games) Manly 1994
6. 14,722 (11 games) Manly 1995
7. 14,719 (8 games) Manly 1971
8. 14,660 (11 games) Manly 1993
9. 14,546 (11 games) Manly 1991

And that’s when they could actually fit in 25k!! Which makes this year’s crowds even more impressive.

It’s really great isn’t it!!! The atmosphere at the games is humming. Even the game that wasn’t a sell out (which was played in miserable conditions) still had 11k there and a great atmosphere. I was having this discussion this morning (about the awesome crowds) and like you, I couldn’t put my finger on the reasons. The only thing I could come up with is just the general momentum of rugby league at the moment - the game is flying!!! I wondered if that had something to do with the Vegas start to the season. I reckon it launch the hype.

Stadiums that are built for the best viewing and atmosphere is one of many reasons imo.
Roosters home ground.
Parras.
Cowboys
and then you’ve got Leichhardt. It’s going to get an upgrade.
I think VLandys listened to the fans and reversed that big stadia tripping idea.
More people, more money, and even though the refs are still fked to a degree, the actual
game is a lot more edge of your seat stuff. Look at that Roosters v Parra game last night.
That was nearly as brutal as an Origin game. Fans love it. But in my experience, the chicks love it more, they go nuts for that stuff. The game is as healthy as I’ve ever seen it. The people have voted.

Sell out consistenly this year means next year more fans will convert to ticketed members to avoid the risk of not getting tickets on game day, repeat this for a few years and all of a sudden we have a permanent Sold Out sign out the front, meaning no opposition fans can get tickets.
If that happens, I'll bet the NRL will move heaven and earth to fast track an upgrade to the oval...
Either that, or fine us for not allowing them in.

The atmosphere at Brooky has been fantastic of late. It's a nice crowd full of decent people...I've been Souths home games with friends and you cannot say the same thing. We've got a great supporter base and the Northern Beaches is the place to be when Manly are playing!

I think the new stand makes it feel cauldron like. Been going to brooky for 50 years and the atmosphere is up there with the best I have experienced. Imagine if the team consistently plays to its full potential you won’t get near the joint.
