SELECTIONS are NOT the problem ..

We all have different opinions on who should be picked .... but the big issue is that we expect whoever is picked to do their job

Who plays on the wing does not suddenly make your forward pack soft and ineffective ... who plays fullback doesn't make the other 16 players play like 5th grade suburban rugby players ...

The entire team is well off the pace in all aspects of the game ... and not one little bit of it has to do with team selections ..

Across the park We look like a 70's kombi van entered in a V8 super series race ...

We haven't adapted to the new rules at all since we returned from the lockdown last year.

Don’t disagree Woodsie but gee Garrick was bad and his poor play led to multiple tries. And put us on the back foot. We competed for a deal of the first half just dropped too much pill on attack and built zero pressure. There were times where the roosters were looking tired only for us to let them off the hook with mistakes.

Garrick was 2nd in the rookie of the year ... why has his form slumped ?

No matter who plays on the wing ... the other 16 players are just not in the contest ...

G'day All,My view on what we've seen in the last dozen games are performances that are indicative of a team that doesn't want to play for the coach or disharmony in the club.
cheers mike

What I find strange about Garrick is that he looked like he had no confidence. How do you lack that when it’s the first game of the year?Is he feeling insecure about the new additions to the club?Is Des not fulfilling him with confidence?Have the rumours in the off season that he was going to be moved to the Dragons, dented his confidence?Add them to a lacklustre season last year

No leadership in this team. The rot started with the Barrett years and we haven't been able to shake that soft underbelly. They throw the towel in too easily and there's no one on the field willing to set a minimum standard and hold others accountable.

Team has no self belief at the moment. Not that different to the team that started well last season, but ever since Tom has been out and we haven't been able to win without him, the team cannot seem to stay in the fight for 80 mins. Squad is not top 8 anyway. We have recently lost Api, AFB, Thommo and have not replaced them with same calibre. DCE, Siro, Jake out of form. Parker, Crocker, Jetski, not first grade players. No full back or hooker. Same defensive problems as last year. Foran im afraid will be targeted in attack all year, old body just too slow

Selections are NOT the only problem.
But they are still a problem, to claim otherwise is complete and utter madness.

And thinking changing a winger and fullback, or having a team selected by Silvertails rather than Dessie, ... is going to turn around a 46 - 4 flogging ... is head in the sand drivel ...

Yeah, we would have flogged if you had selected the team ...

Agree if our record with these guys has been so bad in our past what 13 games. And our first two games this year we have nearly conceded 100 against then we need to make sone changes! If nothing else but for Des to say to the fan base that what’s being dished up is not ok and if the guys picked can’t get it done, he’ll look at other options. Granted DCE (arguably the worst yesterday) and our other more marquee players will be spared, but sone like Garrick can be dropped. Tuipolotu of Funa having an absolute shocker will be no worse that what Garrick’s dished up. And by being selected in the run on they will at least have some motivation. Garrick two poor performances one in a trial and one in the first round drop him! I’d also look at the same for Siro to the bench for davey. That’s two moves that say poor performance in consecutive games will have consequences.

Its like they are stuck in this terrible rot and cannot shake it. I don't mind losing a close contest to a top side, but we are giving up easy possession and then teams score way too easy. Need to somehow just grab a couple of wins to get some belief, but how do you do it with team so out of form and Dez not willing to give others a go. Guac, Shuster, Sipley have always played well when given a chance. I would even be pushing Birt for some game time, we look total crap in attack with no decent hooker

What does that even mean?

Slow down old mate, take a deep breathe and pause a moment.

CARRICK AND PARKER should not be in the team.

WALKER is a centre.

SCHUSTER needs to be on the bench.

FUNA is not a utility.

That's all.

Agree .. selection needs to be performance based ..

But the point remains ... if you make two poor selections .. you should have two poor players ... not 17 players running around like chookless heads ...

Ignoring the bigger issues and thinking it is a selection problem is not the answer

The rot started with the dismissal of Tooves and that was Scott Penn. Every decision since that time, from downtown NYC, has not been toward making a successful football team. Nick Politis and the owners of the Storm must shake their heads in astonishment.
We have a stench about us that will not leave until the Penns do.
And it is heartbreaking.

In your opinion ... but obviously not Dessie's

I will drink the raspberry cordial and look forward to us flogging teams when Dessie comes to Jesus and picks a team you approve of ...

Haha... like clockwork. So utterly predictable. Knock yourself out Socrates.

Worth noting that Roosters only got two set restarts in the match. Set restarts aren't the problem here

I just dont understand what was different in 2019
