Think DCE will look back, maybe he's already thinking about it in his head, ..you know what I did, announcing on TV with a smile and showing up without a Manly shirt that this is going to be my last year at Manly. I think the reckless enormity of what he did and said has pretty much sunk in now.
Mate he's said he's got no regrets about anything. The decade of failure. The arrogance in this bloke is Olympic class. Farewell, don't let the door hit you on the,way out $CE.

Goes without saying, but I bet he'd like to have it over again, such a poor performance and look from a guy that you would expect better from.

The other thing is. It doesn't matter if you hate or disagree with the coach. He's the coach. You're paid to play the way he says. Clearly that hasn't been happening, even admitted he didn't follow the coaches game plan in Rd2 vs the Warriors. Well that act may have cost us a finals spot not to mention how many other times he decided to play off his head rather than stick to the game plan.

Sadly what I got from knowing the season was over is that the next season will possibly be even worse again.

Plodders still plodding.
Plodders we had moving on & unable to replace ( even with plodders ) resulting in reserve grade Plodders instead.
Potentially some of the roster being paid but unable to play after the NRL denies medical retirement.
Thinking of the $5k a week we are still paying the Shoe.
Youngsters trying their best but a year or so away.
The new half back being as frustrated as ****.

And knowing at best you’re a 10-14 side before even a tackle is made.

But who knows , I’ll probably do my usual thing and be all confident just before kick off

If we can't retire JA and croaks we are spoon contenders.
Having that money to spend would help, maybe promise a young prop a spot in the 17 would get a signing

We got a sense of what could have been. It's been a closer competition, spread over more teams. The raiders minor premiers (no-one predicted), the warriors holding it together for longer than usual and keeping a place in the top 8, cronulla finishing top 4/5, the panthers only playing for half the year and still strolling into the top 8. All we needed was to win a couple of games against the bottom sides and we'd be there

I am optimistic that with a different captain and chief playmaker (if not different coach) that we can play a different brand of football where we can grind out wins. Whether we do that or not will tell us a lot about season 2025 in hindsight.

As long as we have a crappy ground that can only hold 16k we will continue to hang with the other perennial losers like the Sharks, Dragons and Tigpies.

You need money for success and we clearly don’t have enough.
No no no, Joker-face Pencil is a rich celebrity who bought us out to show how amazingly important and wonderful he is…. 🙄

Like a quick hit of smack… the Eels are potentially heading north, can’t say the same for us.
To be fair they were down the bottom much longer than us so eventually something had to change.

We haven’t reached rock bottom yet ( maybe it’s 2026), once you are there the only way is up.

Keep doing the same things and keep getting the same results. We need a reboot but our decision makers lack foresight and courage to make the hard calls. DCE made the call for us but sadly siht in the nest on his way out. We really need to focus of developing our youthful stars rather than sitting them behind guys in the twilight of their careers whilst we finish 10th or 11th. Additionally our star players and senior playing group need to focus on their own individual performances which this season have been inconsistent and at times very ordinary. We certainly haven't got bang for buck from our star players this season. Lest hope they focus during the pre season and do their job in 2026.

I wouldn't underestimate the positive impact of DCE leaving will have on us in 2026. Yes, he can turn it on but week in week out, no one (including him) knows what he is going to do. I hope Fogerty comes in, straightens our attack and gives good ball out to our strike weapons like Koula and Ola.

There is reason to be optimistic about 2026 but I think we need to see 2-3 good signings also. At least another middle forward in the same class as a Ray Stone / Ruben Cotter type. We lack hard middles who have a go and grind week in week out.

I think the club is aware of this and tried to sign Kobe Hetherington for 3 years. Not a lot out there but hopefully we can find a 'diamond in the rough'.
