Season defining team v sharks

manlyfan76

There is no A.I. Just better computers
If we go with slow incumbent team Vs sharks rather than dynamic newbies ok it season is done.

9 Simpkins
13 Jazzy
Prop Bully ( more minutes)
Prop TKO
Wing TT2

Bench BR Navale
Bench prop Jake
Bench Prop Brown

I know I'm dreaming and Jake and aloia will be straight back in if fit, bully will get limited minutes and jazz will go to hooker pushing the actual hooker to the bench. And Waddell will be there.

Credit for thinking out side the Square feathered friend
We did look better with that line up
The only question mark is that we played a Panther team that was out of whack
The Last Placed Panthers at the Moment are no Benchmark
They are in Last Place because of how they have been Playing

We weren't far off in Perth with an absolute plodder pack... I don't think the team list will be season-defining at all. People say the scoreboard flattered us there, but that's all that matters, doesn't it? That finals game we won last year, we looked like certain losers for 99% of that game.

Personally, for me, Jake has to start somewhere. He basically has not played for a month coming into this game, he will be fresh. This is the rare occasion where he may play well at lock, like he did in round one, also fresh then.

Aside from that, I agree with the sentiment of increasing mobility. That's why I'm confused that you have left Aloiai out of that team. TKO and Jake are too slow, so I'd be starting Aloiai. He hasn't played a lot this year, but I've liked what I've seen. He's playing with leg speed and intensity not seen since he was at the Tigers.

This way, you can have Tevaga on the bench, and save an extra hooker spot. He can cover both lock and hooker. This gives you the ability to put Talau at 14.

(presumably) Leaving Saab out is insane, this is the best form I have ever seen him in. I'm surprised @BOZO didn't remind you that speed kills...

Navale seemed to indicate that he was completely gassed after his 10 minute stint. I don't think he's quite there yet. Rest of the bench can be Bullemor and Brown.

I don't see why Waddell would be there now. We don't have the injuries we had earlier in the year.

We all have our opinions on here that sparks interest /controversy on our forum and I appreciate your point of view feathered friend

In regards to a fresh jake
Jake has only played the first 7 rounds . How much more fresh into to the season can you get than that ?

To me Jake footy has been declining . His passion is still there but the speed of his game is not
Jake has been on the top of his game for years
But Father Gravity Brings us all down to earth as we age

Simpkins has to be starting 9
Jazz on bench as part of rotating middles and covers hooker/ lock
This allows TT2 a 14 spot of Saab ( speed kills) is back on the wing.
Which also means we have a more than handy back able to cover for the loss of any back during the match.
TT2 could also come on late in tyne game if needed just like Waddell is used but I think he would add more impact.. give him instructions to get in around the ball..sort of roaming off our forwards running at the oppositions tired middles with footwork.

I don’t understand why you’ve identified TT2 on the wing as part of a quicker side…he is one of the slowest wingers in the competition. A number of times he’s taken intercepts and been run down from a long way back.

It makes sense that our shortage of props could be an opportunity to move Jake into the rotation. I’d like to see his workload reduced to prevent him slowing down too much during games. It’s severely impacted the longevity of his career and a big reason why he is now so slow. He was never quick but he’s a snail now because of what he has put his body through.

Even at prop, his work with the ball will not be dynamic but his defence in the first 20 minutes can limit the opposition gaining ascendency in the ruck.

I think he only had TT2 on the Wing until the Speed Machine Saab is back from injury
TT2 and Clayton Faulalo have similar speed and they appear to be our best fill in options

Your option most Possibly is the best way to get the best of and the most of out of Jake

Its not just speed. Its energy, mobility and effort that our new comers be it youth or getting new opportunities bring. It rubs off on experienced and stale members and I'm looking at Jake.

Id love to see Jake start on the bench this game.

If he's truly Captain material, and I question that he is, if he has the clubs best interest at heart, he won't sulk and throw his toys out of the cot, not starting after a stint out. He'd be motivated, I'd love Jake find that impact with the ball he once had, whilst he's playing near in 80 mins and an endurance game, his games not going to change.
Could Jake win this game with a 40 min stint. Once I would have said yep, he will set the tone, poking though the line and chop blokes in half.

Jake needs competition and youth around him to re-find a younger more motivated, spirited Jurbo.

9. Simpkins.
13 Jazz.
14 Navale.

Jake starts. He's not an impact player.

I agree he needs fewer minutes, and this was openly stated when we signed Jazz, he said it was to take some of the defensive load off Jake.

But the unavailability of Crokes scuppered that. Until now! Last week showed what the side can do, even without Jake and Crokes.

Here is another point of view
We all agree that Jake is not an impact player
I believe it is imperative teams get off to a good start build momentum and confidence and blow the opposition away .
We need Impact forwards to achieve this .
Defense does win games but you still have to out score the opposition to win

Yep
Definitely need more impact attack with speed and agility and dominance in that ruck with tempo - good call Bozo my man 🙌

Give me TT2 over Clayton anyday, TT2 is more of a footballer and Clayton is just a Clayton's
