We need a hooker who is actually a hooker. Preferably with a little NRL experience.
I can't imagine Des embarking on a long premiership campaign relying on a couple of makeshift hooker/halves to back up just one specialist hooker - who will be coming off a shoulder reconstruction.
Hooker and wing are where we need strengthening. A lot will depend on how young Hoppa comes back from his latest injury.

I see Sam Verrills is a Manly junior - Avalon Bulldogs.

He should be in a Manly jersey. Another one of those players the Goosters have ‘developed’.

I'd be more then happy with a similar squad , but as we all love Jorge and his big hits ,he is our weak link . We need a tall rangy winger who can compete with the ball and compliment Garrick. This will be our Achilles heel.

Albert Hoppa will be on wing if fit with Jorge onto bench as utility

Smith was signed for 2 years and i am sure he is in the top 30.
Hoppa,metcalfe, schuster would be perfect for the development squad as they will need time to get over injuries and prove themselves in tbe reggies and after june 30 are available for nrl.
I would have either trex or perrett on base nrl salary for the top 30.

To win the premiership I just dont think Parker and Jorge are that standard. Get Ramien and Oates and we'll win it in 2020.

It will not be the dearest 30 contracts. It is if you are signed for the squad of 30.
Still remember back in the late 60s and early 70s and the squad of 55 were listed in the paper to cover tbe 3 grades.

Kioa was in our top 30 to start the year but was not in the squad

Im sure kioa was in our top 30 squad to start the year but he dropped out. He was probably one of the 27-30 players in the squad. Sam Smith may well have taken his place and doesnt mean he'll be in our top 30 next year. It was still the highest paid 30 players in 2018 so unless it changed this year??? Regardless it seems you can alter the top 30 players along the way especially those on lower incomes

Can’t leave Paseka out either.

There is also musgrove who is a tall fast centre winger. I don’t see the value of a Jorge on the bench. After two ACLs I can’t see hoppa being ready for NRL until much later in the season.

Jorge is a winger and not a bench player or forward.

T-Rex will be there... none of the above players are tossed aside by adding him. Minimal contract, plenty of experience, done deal if he behaves himself during the off season. (You would think.)

It’s worked in the past and again in 2019 so the answer is probably yes.

GoJetSki as a part-time relief hooker is an interesting proposition .... would allow 4 forwards on the bench and he can also cover centre .... it works with Victor Radley at Rorters and they are similiar styles of player .....
