Bored so thinking of Manly players poached by the Roosters over the years
Michael Oldfield, Mark O’meley, Luke Dorn, Luke Phillips, Jack Elsegood, Dale Shearer, Tony Iro, Ivan Cleary, Terry Hill, Paul Vautin, Stuart Davis, Michael Eden, Russell Gartner, Bob Fulton, Sam Verrills, JWH......

With the exception of JHW .... I think we got the best days out of the rest ......

Liam Knight ....

Alternatively we got a few good ones from them ....

Phillips and Ivan Cleary certainly kicked on well after leaving Manly , Fulton still largely in his prime . Elesgood never seemed the same after being disgracefully whacked [ but was previously playing very well at Manly ] Others pretty much at the end of their careers , always hard to have retained guys like J W H . Oldfield a pretty fair footballer . Reflecting back on the Eighties [ early ] it seemed almost one way traffic to Manly from the Roosters , Crusher . Bowie .Shoey , Brown , Mc Cabe and probably more

What about the great Ian Barkley and Elwyn Walters

Assume that you are maybe being a bit tongue in cheek in regard to Ian Barkley . Very injury prone unfortunately but i thought that he had a heap of ability . Think of course that Elwyn Walters was at the end stage of his career when he joined Manly . [ think also that he even played prop one game for Manly away from his usual hooking position [ , that was something certainly different ]

Terry Hill was at the Roosters before coming to Manly, however there was also John Harvey, Grant Doorey, Mal Kaufusi, and probably a stack of others
John Harvey was certainly a loss at the time , really in his prime when he left [ then to eventually return ] Wonder if Packer money also enticed Harvey away from Manly like it did with Bob Fulton

Ian Baker and Laurie Freier before that...

Terry Hill came to us from Wests. He played 1 year at Roosters before he joined Wests.

Teeth in cheek

Yep he did and played halfback against us and had an absolute shocker. Almost felt sorry for him .
