Salary Cap doing its job perfectly !!!

I've been reading stories for decades about players accepting less that their perceived value to play for a particular club. What is the difference with Turbo?
Wasn't Greg Inglis reported as doing exactly this?
As an employee I can accept or reject any salary. I can work for free, and have at times.
Yeah in a normal contract if the parties agree they can vary it or scrap it entirely. Difference here is that the NRL makes it a condition of clubs' licences that they agree to XY & Z, including that NRL has to approve player contracts.
Fair point you make about accepting less to play for a club you like. Just guessing but maybe they worry that if allowed this could encourage clubs to pressure players to give up entitlements, or clubs can outbid other clubs for a player then get a salary cap relief afterwards.

I dunno actually, maybe as others have suggested it would have been OK if it was the Chooks.
Hey - Maybe we should send Turbo to play rugby in Japan for 6 months, return around April or May and get 50% off his contract. Isn't that what Chooks are doing with Manu?
