Yes they have put in loads of money into this club but they have been nothing short of destroying this club’s culture.

We could have the best coach around but while this club has them as owners we will be going nowhere.

I know they can’t be sacked but while they are owners its lol@manly sadly.

I was never that big of a fan of / with Max Delmege (for personal reasons) but as a club, we never felt like pauper's, with him at the helm.

The Penn's just give the place a vibe of running on literal fumes.

It's almost embarrassing that the once Silvertails, has a St Vincent De Paul's , hand out with a cup begging feel to it.

They may have been pouring money in to keep us afloat, and good on them for that, but we have to invest, to progress and keep up with the competition.

Why not accept the offers that have been coming up. That Arabic offer would have held us in great stead. We would have been one of the richest backed clubs then, but Penn refused. Why?

Either step up, or **** off. Keeping us afloat is sending us backwards. Sell your toy to someone who will provide capital, for capital improvement.

We are all thankful for their continued financial contribution to the club but that is where it stops.
There is no evidence of them truly investing in the club’s future and truly spending the necessary time and Energy in the club that is needed.
Culture of self agendas and future direction lacking is destroying us.

I voted no. Firstly, we would not have a club without them. So 'destroying us' i have to disagree. Can they improve the operations or time and management they put into the club. Yes. I believe things arent as bad as they seem. Penn just needs to spend a little more time around camp. Next year this should all be forgotten with some wins on the board and fingers crossed a decent coach at the helm. I also believe gorman is the man for the job to lead us into the future. Penn reinvigorated what lyall said mid year in terms of progress with the issues and the football department. Id rather them take time in appointing the right people rather than having barrett 2.0. So if that means having cartwright on the cheap as a bandaid fix til the best available option for the penns and club comes along.same goes with recruitment and football mangers. So be it. Tooves and hasler would be great but wont end the infighting. Like madge said u need a club from top to bottom to move as one. That starts with penn, so he needs to hire compatible staff

Without an alternative owner, we are stuck with them .

They are responsible for the culture and environment at the club and the buck stops with them over the dysfunction that has been allowed to fester !!

I can’t believe that people here want to risk our future on some Arab owners who couldn’t give a rats about our team or culture.

They want to have a bit of fun seeing what it would be like to own a NRL team and when that stops being fun and they realise they are losing money every year (even Souths don’t seem to be in the black) then the for sale sign goes up and Florimo and his other Norths no hopers throw in an offer and there goes our licence and club forever.

They’re the last people I’d sell to.

There’s been offers put to the Penns from people who love Manly over the last few years and they keep knocking them back. Mainly because they’re involved with Delmege.

I’d love to see Kaspersky and URM combine to buy and then they can offer a 3rd to Quantum or Delmege backed people after they buy.

We need the club to stay in control of Manly people, people who know our culture and know we aren’t a popularity contest. Someone who’s not going to dump us if they find out how unpopular we are with the masses.

If only the Penns sold to the offer from the group, @Mrs D spoke about.

Realistically without them we might not have a club, so whilst I agree they are part of the issue I’m hoping things might turn around.

If what I hear is true Mr Fluffy might have had other more important things to deal with in 2018 so probably put us on the back burner.

As to if he’s “ moved on” or not I don’t know , if he has maybe we’ll see a more involved owner in 2019.

Lyall says they are working diligently to appoint a recruitment manager and that they had some 130 odd applications for .. what .. 6 weeks now ... in such a specialised role, I can't see that many having the experience and credentials necessary being unemployed ..

My experience is that a cursory browse through these would likely result in 2/3 good prospects, 5/6 possibles, 20 ambitous dreamers, and the balance totally unsuitable.numbnuts ...

A week to interview say the top 5 ... another week to negotiate the contract .... then happy days ... make the appointment ...

Yet, this important role at the end of the season is still not filled .... Is it because Lyall is incompetent, or (with a tinfoil cap on) is he being instructed to hold off on making an appointment .... for whatever reason ...

I honestly think they are holding out until the fall guy has finished his 12 month ban.
