Sack Spoony Siebold

Agreed. Yet Spoon continues to pick Sipley who continues to be exposed consistently through the middle and offers very little punch in attack despite his obvious size. We are a dads army pack, with most of the forwards on the wrong side of thirty. We are in big trouble this season. We should do WHATEVER is possible move DCE on because we aren't winning anything this year. Put the money towards front ending a few contracts and have a real crack at recruiting a quality backrower and prop.
We drastically need a strong prop and yep also a gun backrower.
This Seibs bloke is also too soft to drop anyone

Fair points.

I think the reason we are so emotionally charged about the state of things is because we get teased by our performances. If we were consistently sitting at the bottom of the ladder, I am sure there'd be a riot on here, but we'd get a little bit more comfortable with the mediocrity.

The issue seems to stem from believing we are on the crest of a premiership wave, only to be dumped on our heads, time and time again. People get their hopes up. A new year brings new hope and the media talk up our prospects and just when things look like they might be turning, we fall apart and our hopes are dashed.

It wasn't a great performance yesterday but for some us, a six point loss to the Sharks feels like rock bottom. The Eels had 50 put on them last night for the second time in six rounds. That should put things into perspective.
If you are comparing us to the eels for solitude we are than Rock Rockbottom

Yep it was a situation where we didn't get a hometown discount, but they also took less than what the bulldogs offered them.

And let's not sleep on the fact that this place would have burnt down if Tom had that unbelievable 2021 in other colours.
If he were at the dogs now, with all these season-type injuries, we would be saying how lucky we were to dodge this bullet. It's a tough one. It's no use owning a Lamborghini if it always breaks down. As my panther's mate always says, they would never want Tommy. His lack of playing is basically the reason we fall apart. 1.2 million could be Haas and a decent fullback.

Most of the issues we have lie with the owners. We have been the same since 2015 when they took sole control and they have had years to get this right and have gone through multiple ceos and coaches inc sacking Toovey bringing in Barrett , going back to des then sacking him again.

We have had 4 top 8 finishes in ten years.

The results are the results .

100%

Our forward pack , bar 2, maybe 3 are as soft as custard.

Blow the entire place up , start again.

Love Tommy , what a champion , but we just cannot base our side around him and expect success.

Love Jake, the heart of a lion and no one is more invested , but at $950k a year it’s way way overs.
After the rounds completed so far, it feels like a repeat of last year. I see nothing that suggests we have gone up a level.

And due to injuries probably down a level.

The side that played on Saturday have little hope of finishing top 8, zero top 4.

Lose the next couple ( highly possible ) and we’ll be sitting back on about 13th /14th which is possibly where we are at presently

Yep 100% correct!!!!! And unfortunately, for as long as that idiot Penn owns this club we can expect more of this shyte. We ain't winning another premiership while that imbecile is the owner. So much for it being "a results-based business" hey Scotty!

The Maroons Captain and halfback DCE was rubbish, I cannot remember him doing a single thing of note in the first half glut of possession, and yet Seibold is the one at fault for the lack of attacking spark? Yeah right.

The gameplan when Turbo is out, is to have DCE run the attack. That's the deal we signed for 2015-2025. If DCE isn't going to put in, that's not Seibold's fault. Nor is the forwards (primarily Jake) being lethargic. These are both long term structural issues that a coach can mitigate but cannot fix.

I much prefer our team with Burbo and Taukeiaho than Tuilagi and Keppie. Those are the choices Seibold can make, not if DCE decides to play attack or not. That's in DCE's court. He decided to be completely absent today. We need more from an Origin captain in his last year.

It's like he's already checked out.
how are you blaming DCE for that team display? i get that many here have marked his card but jeez. Our starting props were ragged dolled and the replacements didn't do much better. It appeared that Luke Brooks was given the keys yesterday and it didn't really work.

Paseka and Tom are huge outs. Saab's pace was missed. we need some dynamic Props that can bend the line. Why haven't we reached out to Lodge? he was pretty good in his limited games last year and is currently unemployed is he not?

I'm sorry but if it wasn't for his name Burbo would be lucky to get a start in the NRL. Taukeiaho is solid at best but is not a starting prop anymore.

Our poor recruitment is more significant than the injuries. Every club cops injuries it's part of the game. Siebs has harped on all off season about creating competition for spots by adding quality depth signings. But now we get a couple of injuries he's quickly changed his tune and started using injuries as an excuse.

The coach is responsible for the old man forward pack.

The coach is responsible for the Josh Schuster debacle.

The coach is responsible for Jamie Humphries being released.

The coach has had two full seasons to shape the squad.

The buck stops with the coach.

Coach is a amassive problme, look at how other team can work hard and perform trough adversity, we cant handle one or two players being out. Class players being out can impact the win v loss, but should not impact effort, desire, basic skills..... on the weekend all of thos areas were way off.

And dont get me started on Ben T, our Captain and how old and slow the pack area, that also is to do with list management

Can we have some new forward coaches like spud or even have menzies or choc helping. Feels like there is not enough accountability for the players and Seibs may not be enforcing that by saying things like I'm proud of our effort..I saw a clip of what Bellamy does with will his players as he makes them work on a job site to make them realise how privileged they are to get paid what they do. We need more of that for our players. Imagine dce and others doing hard days work on a job site. To much privllege been shown to certain players as should be the same across the board as it seems to be like that with Bellamy and his players. I'm not by any account saying what league players do is easy but they do get paid decent money even when not performing. We need some toughening up and accountability made to all players or they are dropped regardless of their status. We have along way to go with success but it does start with individual accountability plus good structures, planning and respect earned by coach/coaches and players for each other. Not enough is spoken of truths to each other otherwise we would see better results.

Not to mention how lethargic the Sharks were in outscoring us five trays to three. Two intercepts and a jagged try of a Garrick kick.
