I'm not suggesting he should be sacked but I really do not like our style of play. I just don't get how little attention seems to be given to our defence and everything that happens in attack is sideways. Football 101 is to engage defenders yet we skip about 5-6 of them in a couple of passes, so they don't even have to do anything. That allows the edge defence to just slide across comfortably. There were a number of occasions today where the Sharks middle was scattered and instead of pushing into the space and either taking a quick play-the-ball or finding a pass at the line, we just shifted wide and ran out of room.

A large portion of this is on DCE and Brooks, early on in that game DCE in particular didn’t turn Haumole in to straighten the attack on the right.

The selection of the team is on Seibold and using Tevega at nine offers zero with the ball, need more from your starting nine than ball distribution, Jake is offering nothing at thirteen, this for me needs to change as without Turbo they are all getting exposed.

The Maroons Captain and halfback DCE was rubbish, I cannot remember him doing a single thing of note in the first half glut of possession, and yet Seibold is the one at fault for the lack of attacking spark? Yeah right.

The gameplan when Turbo is out, is to have DCE run the attack. That's the deal we signed for 2015-2025. If DCE isn't going to put in, that's not Seibold's fault. Nor is the forwards (primarily Jake) being lethargic. These are both long term structural issues that a coach can mitigate but cannot fix.

I much prefer our team with Burbo and Taukeiaho than Tuilagi and Keppie. Those are the choices Seibold can make, not if DCE decides to play attack or not. That's in DCE's court. He decided to be completely absent today. We need more from an Origin captain in his last year.

It's like he's already checked out.

Great coaches are great motivators which ensures players play consistent football weekly.

Spoon has failed at achieving consistency in all but one season in his NRL coaching career. He is living off that one year he had coaching a red hot Souths squad. People forget Bennett took over the Bunnies a year later and almost beat Penrith in a Grand Final without Latrell Mitchell.

I can't see how Spoon ever wins a GF.

When I woke up this morning, I didn’t give us a chance in this game…that’s really sad but it’s because of the style of football we play. When you are defence oriented football team with a bunch of hungry and energetic competitors, you can snag the odd win when down on troops.

When your game is flash in the pan attack, you can bet that when vital cogs in that attacking machine are missing, the cupboard is empty and we are almost guaranteed to lose.

The football team needs a complete "clean out" like the Dogs did. DCE leaving is positive for the cap and the next 2 that need serious pay reductions is Turbo and Jake. If both players are unhappy, I would be incline to let both go to the highest bidder.

The club has had the opportunity in the past to do that "mass cleanout" but have decided to stick with the same team while adding "rejects" from other clubs.
