Sack Spoony Siebold

Honestly, our attack today was absolutely bereft of any meaningful direction. Apart from two intercept trays we were complete crap. This guy is one dimensional in his coaching. The Warriors made him look silly in Auckland. The Storm made him look very silly at Brookvale. And an off their game Sharks made him look like the pop gun attack coach he so obviously is.

Oh, and he's just too bloody nice, as if he's so scared of upsetting the players.

What is his one dimension?

Get it the edge where the pace of Saab can create a bit of indecision in the defensive line. That's it as far as I can tell. He's done SFA else.
You’re more generous that me. I’d say his only dimension is the ability to spin the new age leadership mumbo jumbo like “giving players accountability” and “dealing with chaos” as a shield to deflect from his own obvious shortcomings as a first grade NRL coach. Flanno will teach him another coaching lesson next week, then we will play the panthers back into form.

Yeah, and when we play the Panthers back into form it's going to be very depressing for me out here in the Golden West. Copping abuse as I walk my dogs on the Nepean River in my Manly jersey. We need to get a real coach and stop with this whole new age approach that the club has taken since they decided to change our colours late season three years ago.

And yet, if Tommy had of played, we probably would of won this game.

Are they like:

The attack was clunky and some of the passing was not up to standard but we lack punch in the middle to allow for space to open on the edges.
Yeah agree. I just can’t get why bully is getting so few minutes. Not that he’ll win us a game but he’s at least somewhat threatening. Most of our forwards seem to fall into the tackle when hitting the line. Even if they break the tackle they just fall over.

Agreed. Yet Spoon continues to pick Sipley who continues to be exposed consistently through the middle and offers very little punch in attack despite his obvious size. We are a dads army pack, with most of the forwards on the wrong side of thirty. We are in big trouble this season. We should do WHATEVER is possible move DCE on because we aren't winning anything this year. Put the money towards front ending a few contracts and have a real crack at recruiting a quality backrower and prop.

Whenever the team does well, it's because of Tommy, DCE, Olakau'atu... When we lose it's all Seibold's fault... Yeah right mate.
Our attack was non existent today. Our only play was to attempt to put our wingers away but without the pace of Saab and Turbo it is easy to contain. That is on the coach. The Sharkies were crap today and ripe for the picking. Unfortunately, our boys looked like they had no game plan.

I'm not suggesting he should be sacked but I really do not like our style of play. I just don't get how little attention seems to be given to our defence and everything that happens in attack is sideways. Football 101 is to engage defenders yet we skip about 5-6 of them in a couple of passes, so they don't even have to do anything. That allows the edge defence to just slide across comfortably. There were a number of occasions today where the Sharks middle was scattered and instead of pushing into the space and either taking a quick play-the-ball or finding a pass at the line, we just shifted wide and ran out of room.

The Maroons Captain and halfback DCE was rubbish, I cannot remember him doing a single thing of note in the first half glut of possession, and yet Seibold is the one at fault for the lack of attacking spark? Yeah right.

The gameplan when Turbo is out, is to have DCE run the attack. That's the deal we signed for 2015-2025. If DCE isn't going to put in, that's not Seibold's fault. Nor is the forwards (primarily Jake) being lethargic. These are both long term structural issues that a coach can mitigate but cannot fix.

I much prefer our team with Burbo and Taukeiaho than Tuilagi and Keppie. Those are the choices Seibold can make, not if DCE decides to play attack or not. That's in DCE's court. He decided to be completely absent today. We need more from an Origin captain in his last year.

It's like he's already checked out.

Exactly Leonard. Good summary.
