And that’s why I don’t get the idea that a Manly coach must have Manly DNA.

If we go for a new coach then get the best young gun waiting in the wings , no affiliations , no relationships , a total fresh approach.

I can stomach Siebold for one more year because I don't think we will have a competitive squad next year anyway.

With our squad the way it is, we need a much better run with injuries to when have a hope of being competitive, regardless of who the coach is.

What could've been with a decent injury run
1. Turbo - playing like he is now for 24 games not 2.
2. Lehi
3. Koula
4. Garrick
5. Saab
6. Brooks
7. DCE - retiring like he should've been or playing for 1 more year at Manly vastly reduced $$.
8. Paseka
9. Simpkin
10. Aloiai
11. Olakau'atu
12 Burbo
13. Jurbo - at his best.

14 Jazz
15 Bullemore
16. Brown
17. TKO.

Yeah that side probably makes the finals comfortably

The problem being we just don't do anything comfortably. Even if we'd had all our first-choice players available, DCE's giant "F#ck You" to the club after round three was always going to be hard to get over. And even without that, I'm confident we would have found another way - perhaps several ways - to shoot ourselves in the foot.

Let's see if we beat a decent team next week.
Well, I imagine the Storm will get lit up by Bellamy and will possibly beat the Broncos.

Should that happen it means that the game against the Warriors will have meaning to the Warriors as they can grab 4th if they beat Manly. I'd like to see that happen because I would like to see how Manly perform playing a meaningful game.

It depends if Bellamy does a Penrith and rests 16 players.
I assume 2 plays 3, so they could just save themselves for the semi as the top 3 cannot change.

Parra brought in a new, young coach who quickly moved on two of the clubs biggest and experienced names(Gutho&RCG),brought in a heap of young players they either developed or bought on the cheap from elsewhere, slowly improved their form with a change in defensive patterns and had their best and most expensive player out for a fair chunk of the season, are now only ONE win behind Manly.Parra look like they’re moving forward quicker than Manly.Anyone that still thinks after 3 seasons that Seibold needs more time due to any amount of excuses, especially “salary cap restraints” needs to be committed and Penn&co are number 1 on that list
Watching Gutho last night look like a useless cat.

Ryles is a genius really and when he made the call. He copped a hammering in the media over it.

And they replaced an ageing cat with a potentially gun fullback for the next 10 years.
