Have to admire the fact that throughout his time at manly, his expression has not changed one bit whenever the camera goes to him in the box. Same non-plussed, vacant stare. No talking to assistant coaches, no barking instructions, no storming out. Just the same blank stare. Pretty impressive.

Demetriou took over Souths after the 2021 GF and they promptly went backwards.

Matty Ballin failed as Blacktown coach in 2021. There are reasons why people like Ballin and Trent Barrett are strictly assistant coaches.

Tooves?? Hasn't coached in nearly a decade.

Ennis?? Hasn't coached anyone and hopefully his first won't be us.

I agree Seibold needs to go, but right now or even next week just wouldn't be a good idea. There really is no one of even half decent quality available.

Does it matter? Literally anyone would do as a caretaker. Make Jake captain coach. Years gone anyway. Spoon avoided by the looks.

Apart from results, it’s the lack of any discernible game plan/playing style that gets me. What are we actually trying to do out there? I honestly don’t think we’ve gotten out of the 2021 mode of just getting it to Tom. Once Tom started getting injured, we’ve looked like headless chooks most of the time.

Mate I was backing Siebold but it’s time to make hard decisions. Also please don’t tell me you think the Trbos have been anything but below average the past few years? Can you honestly say their tenure has been a success?

I guess the main question is, would we have been better off with Gutho than Turbo?

He had the likes of Tolu Koula and Terrell May in that team. It's not like he was playing with a terrible injury depleted reserve grade roster... In 2021 we had very few injuries.

He certainly could've done a lot better than that. If we're going to get a coach, one of the main recommendations going around through the coaching sphere is that they should have experience with U'20's, reserve grade, etc. You can't just be an assistant coach.

The whole point is not to make anything worse.

With no one else of any decent quality available, making it worse is about all sacking him would do right now unfortunately.

I'd argue the last two weeks we have gone backwards at a rapid rate, when we should be doing the opposite.

It's pretty clear that most of the playing group are done for the year too.....with 5 weeks to go.

We've already lost the unlosable v Knights, Parra., Titans.

How much worse could it be?

Josh Hannay has served a long apprenticeship at a couple of clubs.
John Morris in the same boat.
BA is still looking for a gig.

The switching of Tom and Lehi is more than enough proof this bloke has run out of ideas. Or how about the fact we completely ignored the backrow position this year to the point we had Corey Waddell and Bullemor on the edges last night. Or that Jake is still playing as an 80 minute lock while whilst not even running for 30 metres (real stat, look it up). Or that we are still captained by a cowardly flog that jumped on TV over 4 months ago to say he would be anywhere but Manly next year.

I think you’re over playing the Isaac Moses impact,given there is barely 4 of his players at the club and none of them are “hold the club to ransom” types

You had me right up until the Isaac Moses but. He is hardly an issue.

Yeah, the problems with recruitment are less about agents and more about the fact we just seem to take whoever is on the market at a reasonable price, without any apparent consideration of what playing style we are aiming to achieve. Recruitment is ad-hoc/reactionary, not with purpose.

If we are to sack Seibold, I’m hoping the Cowboys sack Payton first. None of the ‘next best’ candidates who do not currently have a first grade gig fill me with any confidence, so if Payton became available I would be ok if we got him.

It’s a no to Ballin at this stage for me. As other’s have pointed out, he doesn’t have the experience yet.

And I must say, the push for Jason King to be CEO is crazy. There is nothing on his resume that says he has the experience to be a CEO yet. With an apprenticeship as a COO or a role with some P&L accountability? Absolutely. But not yet. (Not to mention, I have no issue with Mestrov at this point in time; I think he has done a decent job so far.)

Agree, I think mestrov is going ok. Would be great to have Kingy involved as well somehow.
