You got a source for that claim or are you just swallowing everything your confirmation bias feeds you on social media?

And you say this on what basis?
Sounds like pure conjecture to me

Really. Reliable sources are popping up now all saying the same thing.

DCE wants to win a comp before he retires - they told Mestrov and he did the opposite, so he is leaving. I am sure DCE did not want to leave, but if he wants to have a chance to win a comp, it will not be with Manly as long as Seibold is coach.

But, keep your heads in the Seibold sand worship box if u want.

DCE, Jake and Tom held meeting with Mestrov last yr before the Seibold extension to tell him Seibold was not the future and he didn't have the support of the players, Mestrov few weeks later extends him

if true which is very likely then mestrov needs to be held accountable by Penn for extending Siebolds contract...what a **** show.I keep saying it whilst we have a piss weak leader at the helm in Penn who refuses to lead and get his hands dirty ie absentee owner who puts managers in place and hopes it all works out... we are ****ed.

Assuming it is true... What employee gets to dictate who their boss is?

This is Manly's record in the past 10 years. We've had 3 coaches, all or whom either quit or were (or about to be) sacked mid-contract... but these players and the owner have remained constant.

Trent Barrett: 73 games, 29 wins - 39.7 % win rate
Des Hasler: 97 games, 48 wins - 49.5 % win rate
Anthony Seibold: 64 games, 31 wins - 48.1 % win rate

Again, if true, maybe some introspection is needed before throwing someone else under the bus.

Coaches should be excited if they are offered the job in my opinion. Turbo + Jurbo contracts expiring meaning they will have $2m to spend November 1, about to have $500k from Josh A, another $200k from the Schuster payments ending after 2026, 1 of the best back rowers in the comp, Koula + Lehi are future stars & a few very talented juniors coming through around 17-19 years old.

Whoever the number 1 coaching prospect with highest potential should get the job. Might take a while to find their feet like Ciraldo but that’s fine, 2026 will be be a learning experience & 2027 the real premiership hunt starts.

normally CEO s make recommendations to the board or owner which either get accepted or not..Penns approach has always been give them all the rope so if the decision was wrong its easy to hang them.

Lol.

Players wont come to this club, its a complete rabble and remember they all wont to win a premiership!

Manly is no closer to our next premiership or final series than the Titans or the Eels.

We are at rock bottom. Well almost.

If the on field performance doesn't improve over the next month we are in for a long period (years and years) of pain.

DCE, Turbo and Tom will be gone within 2-3 years and we might have extra money to spend but there will be no one to spend it on with 2 new clubs about to join the NRL. Maybe Waddell and Garrick get upgrades????

The answer is a pineapple. We are what we are. Seibold or no Seibold.

2012 was the last time our club was great.

I will keep cheering them on but there is so much I dont like.

I actually think it’s a positive,if their next step is the right one.Moving on from Seibold will have a big effect if they pick the right coach to replace him and his assistants

Oh okay so it it should be pretty easy for you to provide at least one of these “reliable sources” saying DCE is leaving because he doesn’t like Seibold?

Hope we never lose Koula. Puts in every week and is one of the few we have who can be a match winner.
I still believe koulas best spot is fb but we're stacked so put him 6. The Brookes experiment hasnt
really blossomed. Time to try an electric backline with force. Lehi 1, Tom 3, Talau 4. Just try it Seibs

I should have clarified that I was talking about the players allegedly going to the CEO trying to get their coach replaced.

Either way, the CEO does not control on-field results. Case in point, one of our ex-CEOs went to the Roosters where they proceeded to win two premierships. On the other hand we've cycled through a handful of other CEOs and still have not won anything.

This is what I was told today.Reliable source but take it with a grain of salt if you wish

“DCE didn’t extend after Seibold was given extension

DCE, Jake and Tom held meeting with Mestrov last yr before the Seibold extension to tell him Seibold was not the future and he didn't have the support of the players, Mestrov few weeks later extends him

On sacking Seibold, will be at end of season

If Seibold gets sacked before end of season it enacts a 12 month payout

If he gets sacked end of season based on full season poor performance its a 6 month payout

Mestrov last yr wanted Brad Arthur before then extending Seibold, Moses convinced him to stick with Seibold and that if they did he "promised" he would deliver Galvin...”

.
Insane that these guys sat through Barrett, if this is to be believed. Deadset insane.

Barrett once said Brad Parker was a "7/10 effort, 7/10 player, 7/10 bloke", and still kept the job.

Also why would we want Galvin, when we weren't eager to keep Humphreys, presumed that DCE would stay, and signed up Walsh and Large? Doesn't make sense.

Maybe Matt Ballin with a good team of assistants would be the best choice. Get Brad Arthur as his assistant. Guy has alot of experience and would be a good guide for Matt. Keep Ennis as assistant. Get a real defence coach i dunno who but dymock has to go!

What does Eagles nest think of this Ballin idea?
I would love nothing more than to see Matt Ballin back at Manly BUT we need a serious coach to fix a serious problems. Not another bargain basement work experience coach.

Agree on almost everything but 2013 was a fair side too ..... We got cheated at the end but that's the last time we had any joy.

I was referring to your sources, not other posters sources. I suspect what you presented as fact was just an opinion as you did not indicate you were reliably informed.

Poor Trent is not very bright!

I heard Barrett gives a nice wristie. I mean what other reason could there be that he still has a job as a coach?

I actually completely disagree with all of these points.

Firstly, who else would you recruit on min-wage contracts? I believe Brown was signed up for <$200k. As much as they're old and slow, at least they know how to be NRL-players. Remember, Sam Fainu, a young developing forward, who hadn't even solidified himself as a first grader, was able to siphon $500k out of the Tigers. Laiafi, a bench Flegg player, is a Top-30 player next year. That's the market now for young forwards.

It's also not a matter of recruiting one player with the money from all three either; these are all min-wage roster spots that legally must be filled by June 30. There has to be three players, and they must be on min-wage.

That leaves us with two methods. Moneyball, or juniors. For juniors, we must recruit them when they're in the S.G Ball or Matt's phase, or they are too expensive for a min-wage spot later on. This also has to do with demographics and poor development, we don't develop a lot of forwards on the Beaches.

Unfortunately, this reason isn't easily explained, and my words will never outweigh the echo chamber of "wHeRe aRe tHe YoUnG FoRwArDs, tHiS iS aLl oN SeIbS" on Facebook.

2. No way of knowing if this is true for most of them. They are all on below $550k, because otherwise they would appear on that DT article. Saab is on $250k, Talau on $200k. These aren't outrageous salaries.

3. We have gone hard for Starling, Brailey, Paix, Mozer, Smoothy, and those are just the ones we know about. This is a matter of not being able to land someone, rather than ignorance by the coaching staff. Yet again the echo chamber won't hear this.
Buy 1 medium to high tier forward with the combined money of the old guys we are buying, and the rest should be juniors.

"As much as they're old and slow, at least they know how to be NRL-players"

I think the above statement is a bit of a cop out statement. Id take someone who is young and fast with potential over the above. The old and slow types only work if they are the Cam Smiths of the world who can rely on footy smarts. Brown, TKO, etc dont fit into that category.
