Ok feathered friend . You tell us that you were running a business years ago .
Tell the feathered friends on here just How important is a good accountant in running a business ?
Bozo do you honestly think the Roosters are salary cap compliant? If we are to believe what they say that players want to play for the club for less then I guess we have no reply, however players attitudes these days has them always say “I have to do what’s best for my family” which to me means I will go where the money is! You cannot say with a 100% surety that the current Roosters roster is under the cap! Yes they have great accountants & good luck to them but just as we all have accountants who can ensure we pay less tax than we should & have means & ways of making it happen....so do the Roosters. I find it strange that players are offered much more money to play for a particular club yet most of the premier players opt to go to the Roosters for less.....oh but wait....they want to play for the best club & be coached by the best coach etc. Any coach would have success with the Roosters roster. Money talks mate......& brown paper bags are a big part of it! The Storm would never have been caught if not for a certain whistleblower with a grudge! Just my opinion mate.....

I have generally found in life, people who point the finger and accuse others, are untrustworthy themselves, and I am too not a Crowe fan, however, anything to highlight the Roosters 'player management' will override anything else, they can't be anything else other than cheats, and not only to they get away with it, the league simply and naively refers to the rules, seems the Rooster stick by those rules on the surface, well all must be good then, and don't consider they are doing something else underhanded, we all can see it, the game can't or won't. I wish more in the media would highlight the obvious, but they are too busy promoting them, friends in high places.

Apparently, we tried being innovative at one time and it ended up costing us 375k in cap penalties for two years. What do you think of Melbourne's innovation in 2008?
I think the Roosters are one strep above the rest . That is what I think and we have to give them credit for that

No proof No case

Thank you for your opinion mate

Let me say I do not like the Roosters or any team accept our legendary Sea eagles

I believe any system put in place is there to be challenged by shrewd innovators and the Roosters have proven to be the best

We will never be as good as the roosters by whinging
We will only be better than them by learning to be better than them at what they do best

When you even get roosters supporters laughing about their own team’s sombrero you know it stinks. There wouldn’t be many that follow league that honestly think the roosters are under the cap legitimately. It just shows that uncle nick is more powerful than anyone running the game - sad but true

The Roosters employ a simple stratagem to remain under the cap. They don't pay their players from the cap. I that way, they never exceed the cap. Its a strategy available to any team with deep pockets and no scruples. well: it is if they happen to be one of the very small group of clubs that the NRL ALLOW to pay their players outside of the cap.

Clubs on the North Shore may not apply.

Afternoon All,

I will not comment on the compliance and assurance activities of those within the NRL tasked with enforcing, administering and developing the code, standards and regulations that form the salary cap, however, as a fan and a professional involved in a specialised area within accounting, there is a way to appease fans who continually ridicule the salary cap and clubs who are allegedly, manipulating it for their own gain.

The problem is the RLPA are the greatest impediment to a solution along with the players themselves and whilst I would like to elaborate further, doing so could place this site at risk of potential litigation as an inference could be drawn from my proposal and thus, implying that players or associates thereof, are partaking in activities which would be outside the gambit of the salary cap.

Various statutory bodies, State and Commonwealth, utilise strategies requiring people and their partners, associates, related parties to be able to demonstrate their earning capacity, asset accumulation and discretionary spending pattern.

In turn, the disclosure of same allows a professional to map/chart the source, use and flow of funds and investigations may arise from this information; the argument from players that they were not aware of receiving remuneration $X when their contract stipulates $Y, the "head in the sand" theory is constrained as the remuneration package they have received must match the contract lodged with the NRL and their payroll reporting statement lodged by their Employer, any difference would raise eyebrows again along with a whole lot of other "problems" between the NRL and other bodies.

The use of A.I systems can assist in benchmarking player, club and agent spending and this is an area being used in greater numbers in our professional field as not all items are transacted using money, some are in-kind benefits/transactions amongst other "forms" of transactions completed in "this day and age".

The final piece of the puzzle is to enforce spot-based, unannounced compliance reviews, again something the NRL clubs would not welcome nor would the players.

I believe this is the only way we can quell the curiosity of the NRL fan as to the effectiveness of the salary cap.

Thank you and I trust you are still awake after reading this post @:)
