Must confess, not usually a fan of crowe but on the money and very funny.

As Bozo often states though, we really need to concern ourselves with what's in our own backyard....there is a great Manly roster at full strength with super young talent on the horizen and though I get peeved with the Sombrero BS at times, just gotta build a powerhouse Manly side and get back to where we belong - Number 1....

I don't think Souths find ways to financially aid players outside the cap, rather, they are just allowed to bend the rules of the league through management of the NRL to get dispensation whenever they wish.

edit: if Manly weren't such a tight arse organisation we could also offer the veterans we need big contracts, then medically retire them to get them off the cap and instead pay them as coaches. Or we could say fund untraceable personal wages on private games of golf or bankroll gambling in overseas casinos. Of course, that would only be if the NRL allowed it for us too, which they wouldn't.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. The Vermin are the masters in manipulating the cap, getting so called medical retirements for Inglis and Samantha.

To me the Vermin and the Rorters are part of the cartel clubs who write their own rules.

Well they have shed Roberts, Douiehi, 2 Burgess brahs, Crichton, Keary, Inglis, Suali, Sironen, the Canterbury fullback, and a host of other fringe players of late. They did receive help by medically retiring Inglis and Burgess, but that's on the NRL.

In that time they have made a couple of big name signings. Compare that with the Rorters who have won two premierships during the same period.

Part of me thinks its a strategy by Rusty to get the NRL back in line with their primary purpose - securing that Rooters vs Rabbits GF. Generate bad blood, draw publicity, generate (artificial) anticipation.

Imagine the marketability of the 'grudge match of the Millennium' type marketing ploys from the NRLs creative marketing team, replete with a picture of Rusty in full Gladiator attire, and Uncle Nick on the other side armed with a golf club in one hand, and a brown paper bag in the other...

I'll be keeping an eye on the 6-agains awarded, and most importantly the 6-again balancing refs do when the result is in the bag, to distract from how it can be used so easily to influence an outcome (ie gas a team in the first 10-20 of each half and its a pretty much done deal)

For mine the Roosters, Eels & Knights are the true rorters of the salary cap. South’s struggled for years & I don’t believe they ‘rort’ the system......to a point. They have a great nursery of junior talent so I always expect they will have good players to choose from. The Roosters, Eels & Knights are trying to buy a premiership full stop & hence the reason I despise them....more so the Eels & Knights! Yes Souths have been afforded a lot of ‘relief’ so to speak but not to the extent of the aforementioned!!!
