Do the Berries have any local players in their team yet?

No need......they can just go and make 5 mid season additions to their squad each year to cover any injury problems...oh and sign a backrower for 650k, whilst also tying up the rest of their squad and upgrading current players contracts. But I forgot they are probably going to release Goodwin so it all adds up.

Mrs I has already explained it. All the players the Dogs have signed, did so for alot less than they would receive elsewhere. They've all gone there cause they love the place apparently.

lol, to make room under their cap, they'll proably release origin rep Steve Turner!! Gee that little guy was a star!!

Nope! Turner re signed a month ago for next year!

Kyle O'Donnell has signed with the Panthers

Another import for the 'Riff, who Gus says have a policy of cultivating their juniors. He's doing the exact opposite!

Hopefully that means we are close to signing Mith Achurch. I reckon he would be a gun playing in our sytem.

I read they are interested in Thurston.
Bought not bred!

The dogs did discover him to be fair. But I cant see how he'd fit under their cap. Their cap would even be too big for Sam burgess' head.

Penrith seem to have recruited a fair few players, Wouldnt mind seeing Edwards at manly. Although his price ag that he is demanding is a little too high, these young forwards are demanding way too much money and arent working for it (Lussick). They need to pull their heads in, Edwards is asking for way too much !

Remember reading a story that at 15 or 16 nearly every NRL club said he was too small, Dogs were 1 of the few to give him a chance

One or two of his teammates wives gave 'him a chance' too. At both clubs. The rest, as they say, is history.

Keating will extend his old pals act

KRIS Keating will extend his halves partnership with lifelong mate Josh Reynolds after verbally agreeing to a new two-year deal with Canterbury this week.

But what happens beyond 2013 remains unclear. We've been told Keating's extension contains an option in his favour at the end of next season, indicating the Bulldogs could be eying a big playmaking fish for 2014. While Mitchell Pearce has been continually linked to the cashed-up powerhouse, there's none bigger than Johnathan Thurston.

We'll be gobsmacked if the Bulldogs don't have a bite at convincing Thurston to finish his NRL career where it started.

That would make things interesting, particularly for Reynolds. The fiery five-eighth is also off-contract next year and will be in huge demand should his stellar form hold during the finals.

Reynolds inked a two-year extension after making his NRL debut last June. The deal puts him on decent money in 2013, but Canterbury would have to fork out a lot more to keep him.
