Round Six, 2020. NON Manly games.

Glad we have Sirro, Thommo, Gosi and Waddell instead of some self important prick who has done nothing but hire a good manager who has made him more money than he should have made..
You say that now but if he came to Manly you'd love him. He's better than siro and Thompson. Without him the eels would have alot more points scored on them and alot less for them. Guy offloads every time he gets the ball and they all hit the mark..

we need to offload more like last year especially against the raiders. Go Manly

Of course it did. Before the line and then over the line..Friends pass was thrown forward. Turbos wasn't. They both went forward though.
Floated forward with momentum but it did not technically float forward.
Turbo was smacked as he passed causing the appearance of forward but if he had have passed and been allowed to keep running turbo would have still been on front of garrick when he caught the ball.

I'm still trying to get over the forward pass in 2010 that one sideline referee let go by the name of Gavin Reynolds at Parramatta when Des ripped the door off that pass was about three meters forward and they let it go. We were winning 20 - Nil and lost 24-20 and Reynolds was dumped the next week. This referee wasn't dumped? Sounds fair right!
Could be a good weekend if we win today. Parra lose Manly win....

So the ball went forward?
Bankwest stadium is aligned north to south. The ball travelled about a meter forward and five metres east or west depending on which end the Sea Eagles were attacking at the time. Add in the rotation of the earth, and assuming the ball was in the air for about a second, and the actual lateral distance travelled may have been as much as 12 metres or as little as minus 2 metres. The small deviation in the alignment of the stadium ( google maps shows it running roughly from NNE to SSW) and the tilt of the Earth’s axis probably added or subtracted a few centimetres from its forward motion. None the less, it was backward out of the hands.

I hope our forwards start running onto the ball as hard as the Roosters did last night. Might give us the chance to give the ball to the best half or fullback in the game without players in their face.

I love this response Cioran -Earths rotation and Axis. We need you at the judiciary! I think blind Freddy and the NRL have confirmed the pass was not forward and Manly should have won. Why the ref was not dropped is beyond me given the NRL actually came clean and denigrated the decision. Game changing decision and god help the punters who had money on the game. I wonder if Des needs a new front door at home?
I think the first question they should ask before ruling a pass forward is “how would it have looked to an objective observer in orbit directly above the stadium”. I hope I got at least half the malarkey right this early on a Sunday. Nice to know there are other Manly supporters with the same twisted sense of humour.

Backwards out of the hands so a fair pass.. The ball was caught in front where Turbo was though.. My actual whole point was a Rooster threw a pass from dummy half, no momentum, standing still.. They didn't call that..

DCE is the QLD and Australian Halfback. We sometimes expect too much from our players and maybe go over the top.. Would you agree?
... I went down this road recently eh BBTB?... Good luck Rifraff, I'll be cheering for ya 🙂

Yes I do have a twisted sense of humour. I actually deleted the post as I thought you guys were talking about the loss to Parramatta, but I think you were talking about the Roosters game. Regardless I think the refs do need to take a good look into the skies before making any future decisions on forward passes.

Brett Morris is so good for his age as a winger it makes me think he's on the juice or peptides
I hate that I now look suspiciously at players who appear to perform above and beyond, and it is all thanks to Bronson Xerri.
And the fact he was only caught because someone dobbed him in, meaning the regular drug testing is obviously insufficient to catch drug cheats. So who knows how many more there are?
Nathan Brown is one I suspect but then I feel bad for suspecting him when its possible he's simply a good energetic player. Well it's possible, isn't it?!!

The ball left his hands in a backwards motion then floated forward before Garrick got it to score a legitimate try. There were at least 2 tries since Thursday night that were exactly the same & were not called forward.
