Used to hate the Sharks in the Gallen/Bird/Fifita/Lewis/Graham days (with Stuart or Flanagan as coach).

Hynes/Kennedy/Nikora are making me enjoy watching them.

Looks like Ezra starts low and props up and makes direct contact to the head.

For mine, that was just as bad as the Cheese tackle on first glance.

To me yes Ezra is pushing himself into the tackle and bracing for the contact, but he's basically succumbing in the tackle and then working him onto his back (why I thought he made contact off the back foot) ... whilst Whitehead is driving forward through his run.

Whereas Cheese is driving through that tackle with his shoulder... no intent to catch and wrap.

I thought when you pay out someone that contract is still on your books for the seasons signed because otherwise wouldn't it blow the books on the year you do it?

Ronald Volkman and he normally plays 7 in NSW cup. Still has some work on the defensive side. Against the Sharks he was hooked with 15 to go likely due to his defense.

This. I'm sure he will do a job for us but not sure we will get as much from him as we do off the bench. I'm guessing Webster wants to try and have someone strong defensively on that edge where Volkman was a little bit suspect against the Sharks.
