After seeing the replay this arvo, I think you and
@47MVEagle have it covered. We struggled in the 1st 20 mins but we were carrying Josh A from his 1st tackle. The Roosters were fired up and were clearly on top and we had to whether that coz it happens with the top teams, particularly in front of a big home crowd. Just like us.
But the Roosters also got a good chunk of luck to help their dominant possession. We also got found out with Ben in the centres. I don't know when Robinson decided to replace Tupouniua but it was a good call coz what looked like an even fight with Ben, proved decisive with the extra pace.
We were certainly loose in the middle but hopefully Croker got through the Blacktown game and can come back in to share the 9 with Simpkin or Gordie (he was pretty good yesterday, I thought) and tighten the middle in defence. I'm not sure about the prop line up that you mentioned coz it's hard to know how injured they really are. Josh A is strapped like a mummy every game but hasn't been too bad until yesterday's injury. Toff was good at the start and then had the injury and suspension but does seem to be getting fit again. I thought Tent was ok yesterday but he needed some help. Brown was his usual and Bulle tried hard against some good defence. I do like what I've seen of Navale so far and he could certainly be an option off the bench at some point.
But the upshot for me is that we still hung in there despite the start. And no, intercepts are not the best indicator of good attack but not that long ago we would've been getting flogged after a start like that. I look forward to getting a near full team back for the Raiders game as that will be the start of the run home and is crucial to making the 8. I'm confident we can knock them over, we just need a fit and fired up pack to get us moving.
