Lisa Hewitt, the Aunty of Beau Hewitt, who sadly passed away after a rare form of cancer, has put a call out to the NRL to bring in a dedicated round called "thumbs up" for children battling cancer.
Lisa has today reached out to us here at Rugby League Daily to help her promote the campaign.
In a proposal to the NRL, Lisa said:
"I truly believe this round will have far reaching positive effects for the kids battling cancer and their families who have the same love and passion as Beau did for his precious Rugby League"
Beau was the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles biggest little fan, and anyone who has seen his videos would know how much the boys and the club loved and adored Beau, just as much as Beau loved and adored his club.
In 2024 Tom Trbojevic celebrated one of his tries with a thumbs up gesture dedicated to Beau.
We think this is an awesome thing that Lisa is doing here and we couldn't be more proud of her and her family for the strength and resilience shown during this difficult time.
We would love it if you could please share this post out with the hash tag #ThumbsUpForKids #ThumbsUpForBeau to show your support
