Just terrible news.
I saw this at work earlier today and had to leave my office. As a father of 3 this rattled me.
What a brave lad. So much to take from this.
My family are coming down with me from Nelson Bay Sunday, I’m sure the club will do something for this champion.

Tom Trbojevic reveals pain of losing Beau Hewitt, a 12-year-old Manly fanatic, who passed away from Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
Tom Trbojevic has revealed he broke down in tears when told his biggest fan, 12-year-old Sea Eagles fan Beau Hewitt, had passed away after a long battle with cancer. The Sea Eagles will now dedicate their round three game to the “little champion”.
Manly superstar Tom Trbojevic broke down in tears when told his biggest fan, 12-year-old Sea Eagles supporter Beau Hewitt, had died.
The Sea Eagles will dedicate Sunday’s big match against Canberra to Beau with Manly players vowing to honour the club’s number one fan with an emotional win.
Beau passed away on Tuesday from Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma at the Sydney Children’s Hospital after being diagnosed in April last year.
Friends say Beau was Manly’s most dedicated fan who became wonderful friends with Tom, Jake and Ben Trbojevic, who would visit the youngster in hospital and invite him to Brookvale Oval. They were supposed to celebrate Beau’s birthday at a party on Thursday night.
Tom was left heartbroken after receiving a text from Beau the day before he died asking about the fullback’s hamstring injury.
“I was in tears. I’m not the most emotional person but when his mum (Belinda) sent me the message, I broke down and had to go outside. It rattled me,” Tom said.
Beau was texting me the day before asking if I’m okay – that puts everything into perspective. Honestly, I don’t have words for that. Here he was, a 12-year-old kid, on his deathbed and he worried about me. It’s just not right.
“Life can be so heartbreaking and sad at times. He was such a good kid who had every right not to be as happy as he was.
“When we would visit him, we’d see a kid who had so much going against him but was still so happy to see us and talk footy. It puts so much perspective on life. We would go around to his house in Narrabeen and try to help him in his battle.
“The family told us six weeks ago he didn’t have much time left but he was still so talkative. I feel for his family.”
Manly players will wear black armbands in Sunday evening’s match to honour Beau. Unfortunately Tom has been ruled out through hamstring tightness.
Tom offered a thumbs-up post-try celebration gesture to Beau during a match against Gold Coast last year. It pushed Beau to tears while in hospital.
“I was asking him about a try celebration I could do. I scored early and remembered walking back and I said to (brother) Jake: “I forgot to do the celebration.’ Luckily I scored again,” Tom said.
“We knew he didn’t have long left so we tried to make his last days the best that they could. A lot of the boys met him at training. He touched a lot of people with his character. It’s disappointing I can’t be out there to honour him.”
When singing the club’s winning team song, Manly players would Facetime Beau, who touched the lives of Sea Eagles players, staff and fans.
He was a promising junior rugby league player with the Narrabeen Sharks and Mona Vale Raiders, home club of the Trbojevic brothers.
Beau was due to attend training and have lunch with Sea Eagles players on Thursday and had arranged to sit in the 2GB commentary box at Brookvale Oval the following week for a game against Parramatta.
“The players will definitely want to ensure Beau’s honour is respected and the best way to do that is with a win,” said Manly CEO Tony Mestrov. “We will dedicate the game in Beau’s honour and hopefully get a win.
“The match will be a terribly sad event but, at the same time, we want to be able to celebrate his life and remember him. That’s really important for us.
“He was so brave in his battle with cancer. It’s so sad but he won’t be forgotten. Beau was such a good kid, a local kid and a big Manly supporter who had a relationship with our players.”
Beau’s family and members of the Mona Vale Raiders will be guests at the game.
Manly posted: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the parents and family of Beau Hewitt - who sadly passed away. A beautiful and brave young boy who loved life, loved his footy, and loved his Sea Eagles. Rest in Peace little champion.”
Mona Vale Raiders described Beau as a “beautiful brave warrior.”
“He fought with incredible strength, always wearing that big, beautiful smile, and staying positive even in the midst of immense pain,” the club wrote.
“Beau will always remain a vital part of our club. Each week, as our players don their jerseys and take to the field, we know Beau will be with them in spirit.”
Family of League said Beau “put up such a courageous fight beyond his years in attempting recovery from the cancer. We will never forget our little champion Beau and he will always be in our thoughts and prayers.”
The rugby league community has sent its condolences to Belinda, Beau’s father, Scott, brother Tye and aunty Lisa. Jake and Ben will play against Canberra with the game to kick off at 6.15pm.

It has taken me a few days to post this post. When I heard the news I thought I was having a bad day... and this news brought me back down to earth very quickly.
Beau was an inspiration to all of us and the video the club did with him and involvement was very special.
I feel for his family as the little man was so positive in the midst of it all. That is something we can all gain strength from.
I look forward to meeting him with all of those loved ones we have lost, and a message to his parents - you were lucky to have such an angel in your life and he is with us all.
Take care Beau, and until we see you next time - Cheer on those Sea Eagles with those other fans who have the best view in the house and cant be here in person.

For those that couldn’t be at the ground today I just wanted to let you know how special the pre match tribute was. The announcer told the story of Beau’s battle and a video was played on the big screen. I think it may have been Beau’s Mum and brother that then brought the game ball out onto the field.
The crowd spontaneously burst into solid applause for a full couple of minutes. It was like a big collective hug towards the family and I’m not ashamed to say that my wife and I both shed a tear. It was one of the most incredible reactions I have ever seen and I hope Beau loved it and his family took some comfort from it.
Great work Manly family.
The win was all gravy after that.
