but all sides of politics there or their prominent members and supporters , fair game in recent years sadly
Guess in hindsight , just makes one realize how close Trumpy came to a similar brutal fate
347 mil population apparently on current estimates [ minis a few illegal aliens so to speak recently ] awash with firearms , one of the most powerful lobby groups in the world in their National firearms association , social media hardly in a balanced state
Incidents like this inevitable in many regards and no real solutions in sight

And I was literally just posting a real video of the guy who was shot. saying that there has to be sacrifices to maintain the right to bear arms. He was the sacrifice he suggested.

You are 100% right mate & I commend you trying to take the high road. These few flops are just in damage control after seeing yet another far left assassination/assassination attempt coming from the same people that are apparently against gun violence…

2 kids will now grow up without a father & Budgie here is more concerned about trying to post ‘gotcha’ clips smh.

I only found out about Charlie’s death a couple hours ago. I have been following him for years. Such a smart guy. Could debate anyone without losing control. Never heard him swear to get his message across. The fact they still haven’t found the shooter, with all the info so far says a well planned professional assassination.

Agree, don't you just love how the unhinged radical left have describe Kirk as a far right MAGA influencer. His rallies drew thousands, left and right and just people wanting to know what he's all about. No hate speech here just a guy who liked to debate on ideologies and political viewpoints. Really hope something good good comes out this tragedy, but I'm not holding my breath tho.

No-one is suggesting it was good or right that he was killed obviously it's not and is a frightening sign of growing chaos in the US.

But you want a minute's silence?

1000s of people are killed around the world in a variety of horrific ways, the irony of Charlie's murder is fairly stark and totally appropriate to comment on imo.

Certainly there are discussions that can be had about this,and about all the other killings we hear about daily, but this thread is set up just to inform when noteworthy folks have departed, and maybe say a bit about them.

Far left [ another ] assassination attempt , apparently the shooter who fired at Trumpy was at one stage a Trump supporter and Republican inclined
Do you have a gun licence ? i have since they were required in Australia in the late 90 "s and have been handling and using firearms since my early teens with the respect and caution that was only ever expected .
That is still far from the reality in a many instances in the States right now and could only still rate as a major contributor to a much less safe and more dangerous society there with limited controls and effective type regulation
Same applies to many dozens of people in my local regional area with a similar background i am still familiar with and almost unanimously support a fairly high level of regulation and control on the right to use them
Anyway , had previously never heard of Charlie Kirk until i heard some of his public dialogue last night and if that was any indication , hardly seemed like a nutter to me and actually some scope to appeal to the mainstream in some respects and another tragic outcome whatever was his station in life
Think that the level of intolerance has really gone up a quite a notch or two in recent years and pretty much universal and with social media or the opportunity for excessive venting of extreme or on the margins views there taking a major turn for the worse and just inflaming tense situations or issues even more
