Recruitment, good , bad and downright ugly.

Recruit from the country ???

I don’t think our football department is that smart.

OR

The Km allowance they get from Mr Fluffy only allows 50km on any one direction.

Our recruitment strategy:

NEW PLAYERS
1. Bottom 15th-16th placed team, if yes - recruit. if no - go to 2.
2. Have fallen out of 1st grade selection, if yes - recruit. if no - go to 3.
3. Are they one of the slowest forwards in the league, if yes - recruit. if no - unacceptable.
4. Are they always injured - if yes - start at point 1.

EXISTING PLAYERS
1. Would another team accept them, if no - recruit, if yes - unacceptable
2. Are they one of the slowest forwards in the league, if yes - recruit. if no - unacceptable.
3. Are they part of possibly the worst ever NSW Cup team, if yes - recruit, if no - unacceptable
4. Are they always injured - if yes - start at point 1.

And usually they go around in circles,* like a DCE scoot out of dummy half.

*Up Mona Vale Rd, down Forest Way onto Warringah Rd, down the Parkway to Narrabeen. Then Repeat.

Yep that’s all they can do with $50 at $1 a kilometre.

Definitely no money to look in Queensland or regional NSW, that would take much more than the $50 allowed.

Great post Ryan. Made my day. Love your passion for this club mate.

See in the rumoured thread something about Spencer Leniu. Big, mobile, fast - embodies the 2022 type, shape and style of forward. Him and Aloiai starting prop rotation. Get Nathan Brown (Parra paying some freight) then and your roster is complete for 2022 (probably a Hooker that becomes available for some reason in the off season too).

01. Tom Trbojevic
02. Jason Saab
03. Tolu Koula
04. Kaeo Weekes
05. Reuben Garrick
06. Josh Schuster
07. Daly Cherry-Evans
08. Josh Aloiai
09. XXXXXXXXX
10. Spencer Leniu
11. Haumole Olakau'atu
12. Nathan Brown
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Karl Lawton
15. Taniela Paseka
16. Sean Keppie
17. Kelma Tuilagi

That's a team that is not only competitive - but competes for a top 4 spot. Shows how close we are. Please recruitment, let's make something like this happen.

Good side. Be interesting to see what sort of impact brown has in the GF hasn’t played with the big boys for a while.

Ps. What happened to the merchant, this Ryan bloke seems a much better bloke 😂

Unfortunately you need to have a decent squad of 30, not just 17 players who appear to be First Grade standard. We keep falling apart because of our injury toll. The top clubs have great depth, and the uncanny ability to keep their best players injury-free. Penrith and Doesn'tmatta are the two clubs that have escaped many injuries so it's not surprising they are contesting the premiership. You need a healthy squad to be a chance in the finals. Souths and Melbourne would have challenged for the title if they hadn't had so many injuries and suspensions.

Our recruitment is shot. You can't buy a Ferrari at VW prices. Development is shot with the current disconnect between Blacktown and our squad.

Agree mate, but remember, our depth would be Harper, Parker, Tuipulotu, Sipley, Bullemor, Croker, Humphreys, Tuitavake, Boyle, Fainu, Fulton, Burbo - that's rock solid.

Our top 17 who appear to be first grade standard is not premiership winning standard either IMO
