Team Victory Song:

We are the Manly boys,
We had a win today,
We are the boys you know of
We showed them how to play,
No matter where we’ll be
Maroon and White you'll see,
Oh aren’t we a wonderful credit
To our locality,
So cheer boys cheer,
We are together,
Every now and then we have a win…..have a win
We will play them all around
At our home or any ground,
If they’ll always play a fair and honest game
So it’s GUZZLE GUZZLE GUZZLE
As we pour it down our muzzle,
And sing out the order loud and clear, 'MORE BEER',
And we will drink all night
Until we are very tired
In the shade of the Manly Leagues Club.

Crikey!

This post was longer than the game!

(lol)

thanks again 🙂

Very noticeable yesterday, and on the replay, just how physical Tommy played.

Defensively on the Rapana break, and a couple of other times, he really put the body on the line.

And he noticeably ran harder into the line with ball in hand.

Almost as if the big hit he swallowed from Hudson Young flicked a switch in confidence in his body being able to hold up.

Hope it keeps up.

Teams often take on the personality of their long term coach. Canberra are in that space, with the victim mentality that is a hallmark of Ricky’s approach.

Thanks again Mr Tapine.* You helped ensure Manly won the game.

*Manly’s Man of the Match😉
Said the same thing re Ricky. One of my mates is a raiders fan and he’s stopped watching them until Stuart gets replaced.

I was at the game and was worried when he appeared to hurt his shoulder scoring, but those concerns evaporated when he took a back fence brownie hit up on their line. He seriously ran full tilt from the back fence. He may have lost some pace from his numerous hammy problems however the bloke is a superstar footballer. He has such serious footy IQ. His defence yesterday was oustanding.

That smash and grab hit-up on the faders Goal line came totally out of the blue. Agree, he's now starting to trust his body now.

It’s like Tom has said f$&@ it, I’m just blasting out at 100% and if I get injured so be it. No more half paced crap. Whether true or not, I for one prefer this approach from Tommy.

That said with our f/a being irrelevant now, if I were siebs id be replacing guys when the game is gone. Tom, Dce and jake could have had a 10-15 minute spell at the end yesterday. All helps in lead up to the finals.
