Maybe better to finish 5th than play either Storm or Penrith and possibly pick up injuries. Imagine coming from 5th and making a GF, the win from 5th would also give us momentum leading into the next semi. Something to ponder I guess.
True also , but got a touch up from the Storm in top 4 initial final 21 [ and had an off night ], came back to beat the Roosters and with a bit more luck and calls going Manly 's way against the Bunnies , could have well made the G F that season that the Bunnies almost took out and without Mitchel .

Talau, Aloiai, and Simpkin all appeared injured so no clue if they'll make an appearance. Haumole back, Croker probably back, and Seibold thinks Hoppa will be back. Assuming Talau is fine:

1. Turbo
2. Saab
3. Talau
4. Garrick
5. Hopoate
6. Brooks
7. DCE
8. Paseka
9. Croker
10. Sipley
11. Olakau'atu
12. Lawton
13. Jake
14. GCKT
15. Bullemor
16. Waddell / Burbo
17. Brown

I think Burbo might need a couple of weeks in reserve grade, rather than waste away on the bench. He needs to work on his defence. Aside from that, with question marks on Aloiai, Simpkin and Talau, basically full strength. I deadset think Talau/Hoppa might actually be better than Koula/Talau.
If just minor injuries, with a week off they should be ok for the Faders game.

Years back the NRL wouldn't let a final go to Brookie because it's too small.

So we need to start winning away from home a bit more.

But to be the best, you've got to beat the best.

If we can finish 4th why wouldn't ya. Surprise people with a win first up in finals. It's a week off, to freshen up and the team is one win away from playing in GF.

Didn’t think Brookie got a home final anymore. Agree re f/a we just need to win from here and our draw is pretty good really. No reason we can’t win out from here to jag a spot in the 4. Beating Raiders, Dogs and Sharks will be like 4pt wins.
The past 2 years Cronulla has had a home semi final with capacity 12,000.

If there's a top 4 spot available, you're 100% taking it.

Yeah it would be away to Melbourne or Penrith, however we've beaten both of them this year, including Melbourne without Turbo. Melbourne also look like one of the weakest sides in 1st spot for ages.

The chance to play for a week off is a bigger plus than a home game at Brookie IMO, not to mention we could finish 5th and win, then have to play Melbourne/Penrith in a sudden death match the next week if they lose week 1, which is far worse.

After watching the Storm v Dragons, I must admit, they are looking a tad fragile. Happy either way, playing them at AAMI Park doesn't hold any great fears for us.
