Let me be the first to say I am very glad that Lachlan Croker has proven me wrong and is back playing for Manly from this week. I honestly thought he was done and would be a medical retirement at the end of the year.

I'd much rather be proven wrong on things like that than proven right.

My only worry is the quality of our dummy half play. Even just a few games in with Simpkin it was obvious what we had been missing since letting Api go and Manase Fainu decided to go to a church dance – quality dummy half play. Like Froggy, Simpkin may not be much of a runner, but his passing is a lot crisper even in just those few games than anything we've had since the end of 2019.

Personally, I would love to see Froggy moved into a ball playing lock role (we know he has the skills and the defensive game) with Jake Trbojevic moving to the front row rotation. But I can't actually see that happening unfortunately.

Either way ... welcome back Froggy.
I’m glad to see croker back as I see some value and is undoubtedly a valued squad member, but I dont rate him as a hooker and I can’t see him at 13 as he has no running game. The good ball playing locks are successful ball players coz they have good running games and keeps the defense guessing with equal threats of passing or running.

Croker is not this. I honestly don’t know where we play him next year, another off season and some experience at the backend of this year should see Simpkin and Gordie well and truly overtake him
Min looking forward to him shoring up the middle and tackling his heat out this year, not looking forward to the loopy passes and kicks no one else knows about

Still hats off to the guy for making I bs k, I hope he plays like a man possessed

I think it really depends if raiders are clicked on or off because I find them to either turn it on or just be completely off. My worries are they are going to be putting in a big effort for papa, old boys day and strange got rested last week so might give him that extra fire up his you know what to show Ricky he wants to be in the starting side every week and hoping weekes doesn't give out our secret formulas. I'm really hoping last week zapped a lot of energy out of them but it also could give them a lot of confidence because they put up a decent fight.

We should be focusing on what we can control - our own performance. On paper this is arguably the strongest line-up we've had all season. Yes, we're missing Al and Koala, but we should win this match comfortably. Manly plays well in Canberra for some strange reason, and this match is a day time one. Again, we generally play better in daylight.
We have the forwards to hold the Canberra pack, and our backs are superior.
Given we turn up with the right attitude, which would be unforgiveable if we didn't, then I am not worried about the outcome of this particular game, and I envisage us going on a winning streak.

Game Day eve!

Under Seibold Manly usually goes well first up after a spell. Raiders this year are a fair side (and I can't help liking Rapana, never ceases to surprise).

But in reality they know last week was a game they needed to win, and they failed. After Manly they are away to Cows, then have Panthers Chooks and Dragons!

So once we get a lead I expect their heads will drop a little, and by the end of the game Manly's charge to finals will be on in earnest.

We have some good history playing in Canberra, I rate our chances this weekend
Think It could be a Turbo inspired win coming up in Canberra, we've got a lot of speed to burn out wide and Turbo will be looking to set up try scoring opportunities when they present themselves. Also, are you out of hospital now ?

Thanks for posting feathered friend
There is no SAABstiute for Killer speed and this lethal weapon of ours is as formidable as we give him space to burn the opposition
The moral of the story
It is not what you have
It is how you use it

Definitely should not be underestimating the Raiders lineup.
Hopefully will have the defence in order and with helpful field position and completion rates , should be able to go on with it .
Thought that Burbo was a bit unlucky not included as a run on edge but Lawton has been quite impressive at different stages and some important good individual plays in recent weeks .
Get the notion that Sipley could still start at prop with Tent and the Manly bench regardless , if used effectively , could provide a further boost .
Maybe Turbo can hopefully put in a big one , could be a critical point of difference also

Or ... Jake to prop, Brown to lock?
Can't recall whether Seibold has ever used Jake at prop, but it's certainly floated here regularly as an option.
There is some sense in having Sips and Paseka on at different times, not together.

Once again team selected without a backline player on the bench. IMO stupid policy.

How is Morgan Smithies still in the squad ? Didn’t he go HIA last week thus 11 day stand down.

Danger game tomorrow

Look how the titans who have been in the press this week and have turned up tonight 30-0 down with only 30 minutes in

If we think we are just going to win by turning up then the upset is on the cards

I don't feel confident at all about tomorrow
