Pre-Match Manly v Warriors Round 25

Brown has been tried at centre before at Manly and Penrith and has failed miserably. Usually what happens is his opposing centre either beats him for footwork or pace and he's left floundering. In attack he provides very little, at least Kelly can run some good lines.

Tommy must be moved to centre then put either Hastings or Wright to fullback.
Tommy must be moved to center... Wright at fb... These things will never happen I guarantee it. Tommy is one of the best fbs in the game. As for brown I know he sucks but Kelly is pathetic.. that dogs games he just looked like a joke seriously those tries and the ease at which they came was inexcusable

The free flowing fast Warriors will run straight to Kelly . I have not seen a more fragile centre in the game like Kelly and he has proven this all year . Just like Trent was persisting and stalling our attack with Walker at 5/8 last season he is persisting with weakening our defence with Kelly.
I wont be suprised if there is a late change there and Kelly is replaced .
Kelly out wide is a deficient target that no team will miss
Kelly and the arm grabbing Brown are two of the worst players I have seen in the history of our great club who have been consistently picked to disservice our honourable marron and white colours
Playing Kelly out wide is like playing with our pants down getting ready to be screwed by the opposition

we will be looking for a center I hope...

Kelly was very poor but to make things even worse not one of our 'experienced players' stepped up on that to help him out. If the defenders from Green onwards showed more urgency and rushed up on defence instead of sitting back and waiting for space to open up leaving Kelly and Wright with 2 on 2, 2 on 3 etc.

We have zero other options than to play Kelly (brown and winterstein at Centre won't work). But this is where Barrett must enforce that the defence can not sit back and wait for the ball to shift past Green with no pressure beforehand. Green himself is not a good defender and this puts more pressure on Kelly.

Attitude/urgency in defence will win us this game and that has been the one thing that has been missing of late.

If there is anything that could be changed is switch Wright to centres and Kelly to the wing to see how that goes?
It doesn't matter where you put Kelly, he will be exposed. He needs to be replaced. The only reason he was back in the team was through injury and not form. Given his continued lack of form TB should drop him and replace him with someone else.

Totally agree with that although what I'm trying to get across is that this side still hasn't developed the mental toughness/attitude that allows them to win a premiership. I thought it was heading in the right direction when we were sitting 3rd however, this last month has just showed we aren't there yet. Sure we need to sign one or two more quality players although I believe the most important part of a team is their combinations, attitude and toughness. We need to target tough, team players with some experience who will just put their body on the line week in week out and harden up the players around them. Jackson and/or Klemmer would help
A la Myles 2012

We could be up for a win here, every man and his dog have tipped the Warriors at my watering hole.

I agree, but the issue is there is no one to replace him with. He was replaced by Parker but he isn't available and now you have zero back up options as we don't have depth.

That is indeed a problem that TB needs to work out. Drop him and reshuffle the line up as many have suggested. There is absolutely no use having him in the side if he is that much of a liability..

Realistically we were never going to win the GF this year, making the 8 is a successful year, if players like young Kelly, lane, hastings, AFB all learn both skills and attitude while we make the top 8 than that is realistically a very successful year.
We are all blaming Kelly for the loses but some footy brains see the cause ( inside players) of his failings, which he should learn from over the next six months and come out a better player and even coordinate the edges better.

No one blamed Kelly soley for the loses . We are all pissed off for his constant contribution to our teams loses . As passionate supporters of the most successful team of the modern era we have been blessed and spoilt by having a team of quality players and the likes of Kelly are frustrating to watch week in week out being targeted by teams successfully to our teams demise .
Just like it was frustrating for all to watch the Walker doomed experiment at 5/8 last year we are experiencing the same frustration with the fragile Kelly being continuously picked in the back line.
This is a fcuking forum and we say it how we see it !!!
Those who have eyes have witnessed all our weak links and we must break the chain and piss them off .
As for the inept Brown the only thing he adds to a NRL team is salary cap space .
The sooner these type of players are out of our squad and are replaced by more competent and impact players the better our chances to be a FORCE once again

I suppose the point I was trying to make was that this year was never about winning the GF but is was the one year rebuild MKII.
With the handicap Barrett has had with Matai and Stewart's money and massive player turnover making the finals and growing toward next year is a success.

To all of you history buffs out there (you know who you are) citing our poor record at Win Stadium and Leichhardt Oval as a major reason we could not win those games, then this is sure to get your taste buds tingling with a wave of optimism;

"The History: Played 30; Sea Eagles 22; Warriors 8. Manly have a brilliant record against the Warriors, boasting six straight wins against them dating back to 2013, and beyond that have won 17 of their last 20 encounters against the Kiwi club. At Mount Smart Stadium, Manly have lost only three times in 14 visits."

That is a good record but if Kelly and co start missing tackles again then records are meant to be broken
