Pre-Match Manly v Warriors Round 25

The retention of the team from last week highlights our acute lack of depth. I only hope that the team lifts for this game, otherwise the same thing will reoccur.

why the flying **** has Kelly been picked. I don't care if he plays like Greg Inglis of 2014 in this game, he's got to be punished (again) for that **** he threw up against the Bulldogs. We can't keep rushing him into first grade, it's evident he needs more time to develop

Surely there's someone in the Reggies or Under20's that can play centre?

I think Kelly is just lacking confidence, you could see him being very tentative on Sunday and due to that he let a number of try's through.

I don't want to get down on the kid but I think he needs some more time with less pressure to rediscover his mojo.

It is a tough one, once you become 'the target' for opposition, it's not hard to really hit rock bottom. See David Williams after the Tupou bloodbath that was GF day. Sure there were other obvious things happening, but after that he was shot. Once your weaknesses are so obvious, or you have a few rough games, you have to do something to fix, and don't have long to do it. With Kelly, he had his spell and played well in reserves, then got lucky with Parker injury, but it obviously the spell didn't help as much as it seemed and he just wasn't ready for what hit him. I guess he now should thank his lucky stars he gets a week to fix it where we'll hopefully see his true spirit, if same thing happens again - and you can bet warriors will run everyone at him, you simply can't take him into Penrith game or finals (if even get there). Eyes will be firmly focused on a potential replacement if he has a shocker. Getting dropped now while disappointing for him, isn't the end of the world, can go play a few games in reserves and build confidence into an off season where it's blindingly clear where the focus needs to be, or else it's a season out west in '18.

I like Barrett as a coach , I think he's bought in really well BUT we are at a crossroads for season 2017, right here, right now.

Lose this next game and I'm afraid that's it, because Penrith are on a massive roll and with our current form it will be an absolute pasting in round 26.

Now, regardless we will make the 8, as I see the Panthers beating St Merge which means season over for them.

But to go into a finals series after 5-6 losses and 1 half arse win will simply mean we will be absolute cannon fodder.

As I've said earlier the definition of insanity is doing the same thing every day and expecting different results.

Trent has to roll the dice , there's nothing to lose.

Kelly to Reggies
Tom to Right Centre
Walker to Left Centre
Hastings to run on Fullback

We aren't playing the Storm ( that would possibly crucify Hastings in his first game), so ZERO to lose.

Could be a disaster , but also could be a master stroke!

When this was first suggested 3 weeks ago (with one or 2 other possible alterations),

it got 2 dislikes and a troll rating.....ROFL

Wont be able to fix kelly in a week. He is an absolute turnstyle in defense, arm grabs and just totally misreads the opposition. He looks lost, like a dear in headlights
You forgot that he repeatedly drops the ball when tackled. @

I expect foran to be out if he does play will just be a passenger but Johnson playing is a big big plus for them. Usually plays well at home johnson and they a lot of strike out wide. I expect them to score 30 against us. Only way i see us winning if we score more than 30 ha

I truly believe our defence will rise this week so hopefully we don't need to outscore them, that is not the manly way. It's either we earn a win through decent attack and good defence, or we lose with good defence. I don't want to see us drop our guard because we believe we can outscore the opposition.
