Pre-Match Manly v Warriors Round 25

Same team as last week no changes
With lussick starting and bj on bench
Then: no chance. If Barrett can't see that Kelly is completely shot - can't tackle, can't even hold onto the ball - then there's no chance he'll be able to figure the basic fundamentals we're lacking.
Groan.

I may be wrong but the way the team was read out on the app Kelly and Walker have swapped sides. Not sure if this really changes much as Walker isn't really a great defender either.

Surely there's someone in the Reggies or Under20's that can play centre?

I think Kelly is just lacking confidence, you could see him being very tentative on Sunday and due to that he let a number of try's through.

I don't want to get down on the kid but I think he needs some more time with less pressure to rediscover his mojo.

Last home game of the year for Warriors, so expect them to come out fired up to try to redeem some credibility after a terribly disappointing season.
That is why we'll need to be good to win.
Yer we will have to be good and turning up with the right attitude will help . We have plenty of game breakers there to win , just gotta turn up to play.

Whats going on with jono wright, no world beater but can't be any worse and has experience.

Correct, can't be any worse than Kelly.

You know the definition of madness is doing the same thing every day and expecting different results.

And one thing you do get when someone is given a chance, they usually try their guts out to succeed!

I'm OK with leaving Kelly at centre this week and giving him a chance to redeem himself, or more realistically, improve on his last performance. I would hate to see him dropped after last week as the long term damage of that could be far greater. Hopefully, the boys get behind him and he backs himself to make a much improved showing. Realistically, we just don't have an appropriate replacement for him anyway, and shuffling too many players around out of position is more likely to see us struggle even more.

Thats right . I haven't seen much of wright this year and his form might not warrant selection, but he might step up if given a shot ... Ive been shot down for this but maybe Tom to the centres and either hastings or M Wright to fullback, i dont know...

I've never shot you down about Tom to the centres.

To be honest, I think he looks a bit lost at the back at times.

Such a pity Stewart wasn't at least employed to train him for this year.

The dogs ran at him all game and if the warriors are smart they'll follow suit. Look he might have a good game but id say his confidence is shot.

I know you haven't mate . In a perfect world thats all i think tom needed was abit more guidance from the prince .

Sadly , currently a massive liability.

I know Parker is injured but I just don't understand why Barrett isn't giving someone else a crack!

The Warriors may well do (stupid if they didn't test him).

How much of a shot his confidence has taken and what sort of person he is to respond to that I have no idea. However, it could also be the test of fire he needs to face in order to stand up and be something. He fell off the bike. Badly. Has he got what it takes to grit his teeth, jump back on and make the adjustments to improve? I really don't know. I guess we'll see what he's made of this week in the way he responds.

I've been sitting here thinking about this.

Jackson Hastings has played all his junior footy at Fullback.

So, drop Kelly, Tom to centre, Hastings to Fullback.

AND

He can kick goals!

FFS we have to try something different to spark the team otherwise it's just same old same old for same old results!

You just nailed it . Id try that but am not TB.

I like Barrett as a coach , I think he's bought in really well BUT we are at a crossroads for season 2017, right here, right now.

Lose this next game and I'm afraid that's it, because Penrith are on a massive roll and with our current form it will be an absolute pasting in round 26.

Now, regardless we will make the 8, as I see the Panthers beating St Merge which means season over for them.

But to go into a finals series after 5-6 losses and 1 half arse win will simply mean we will be absolute cannon fodder.

As I've said earlier the definition of insanity is doing the same thing every day and expecting different results.

Trent has to roll the dice , there's nothing to lose.

Kelly to Reggies
Tom to Right Centre
Walker to Left Centre
Hastings to run on Fullback

We aren't playing the Storm ( that would possibly crucify Hastings in his first game), so ZERO to lose.

Could be a disaster , but also could be a master stroke!
