What's wrong with Caleb Navale? How long must a young player excel in the Reserves before can be promoted? Manly desperately needs an injection of youth.

Nothing but his not in the top 30
So he can’t be used before rounWaddell suspended for 2 games. At least a new face will have to be selected rather than that plodder.
Burbo mustn't be playing then, because I saw him walking his dog on Ocean street in Narrabeen this morning around 7.30am.

Maybe he's heading over later.

Could it have been Luke that you saw?

I would love to see:

1. Hoppa
2. Saab
3. Koula
4. Garrick
5. Talau (SURELY he's back...)
6. Brooks
7. DCE (screw on your head mate)
8. Aloiai
9. Croker (SURELY he's back too...)
10. Taukeiaho
11. Olakau'atu
12. Burbo
13. Jake
14. Tevaga (hooker for 10 mins max, play him as a prop)
15. Navale
16. Bullemor
17. Brown

If your aging forwards can't keep up for long amounts of time, then give them shorter stints! We have a player in Tevaga that can play prop and cover hooker. We should be using that ability better, rather than just use him for 20 mins as a starting makeshift hooker.

Navale deserves a shot over Waddell. I really don't understand why Waddell has been on our bench. Bullemor covers basically the same positions as him.

Sipley is past it.
He never reached it to now be past it.

This would be what I'd go with, if Saab is out I imagine Vaega may get another crack after scoring a hattrick in ressies yesterday. Schoupp was 18th man yesterday too so maybe he is closer to a run in firsts than we think, him in the centres and Garrick back on the wing is an interesting option. Before the Garrick lovers come in I'll admit as a critic he's been decent in the centres so far this year, but for next week with our injuries I think this would be the better way to go rather than having 2 relatively inexperienced/unproven wingers.

I don't think Jake wearing 8 or 13 changes much with him just being too slow for the modern game, but moving him to prop may at least see his/our mindset change as to what his role is in the team going forward. Brown can do all the ball playing at a better level anyway and can provide the starting team with some energy it has been lacking recently. With Aloiai back there's enough punch off the bench between him and Bully to keep our bench as one of our strengths (minus Waddell).

Can't believe I'm saying this but Croker will be a handy addition once he's back, if for nothing else but to move Jazz back into the middle rotation where he belongs. At least Simpkin has somewhat established himself now that we probably won't have to watch 80 minutes of Croker again.

Insane that Navale doesn't have a top 30 deal and can't debut until round 11, would have him over Sipley in a heartbeat. So much for that great depth we were all excited about in the pre season!

Bugger all this negativity.

Come on guys/gals. Forget yesterday. It’s in the bin, along with the Sharks’ premiership hopes.

Yeah, yesterdays performance stung a bit. If we didn't leave the ground early, we all yelled at the TV like it owed us money. That’s passion, baby!

But before you start selling your jerseys on Marketplace... BREATHE. 😂

This week, we regroup, reload, and unleash. We’re not just bouncing back, we’re coming in feathered and feral.
Keep those chins up & give the death-riding a rest.

We’re facing the glorified sardines from Cronulla for goodness sake, not superman.

They've won just ONE premiership in their entire existence. We're a proud club with a proud history.

This coming Saturday, we're going to make a statement. I feel it in my bones.

I go to bed thinking like that …… but then I wake up and realise it was a dream!

Navale played 2 games last year

Navale is a development player, though the wording has changed from development to supplementary player.

Supplementary List players (formerly known as development players) are eligible to play in the NRL from Round 1 of the season. This is a key distinction from the "Training Contracts" (train-and-trial players), who can only play NRL matches from Round 11 onward. A development player on the Supplementary List can be utilised by a club at any point during the season, starting from the very first round, provided they are selected to play in the NRL squad.
