Positives and Negatives of roosters trial

I came away from last night's game feeling pretty chipper. We came back at them twice at the end of each half ... so the boys were putting in till the end.

The interesting player for mine is Winterstein. I thought he was OK last week against Souths, this week he was troubling the line and with his height was able to get some offloads away. I haven't seen much of him in D - would like to know what the other guys at the game thought.

Won't keep pumping Green's tyres, then again, it's a breath of fresh air seeing someone out there giving us some direction - no doubt DCE will cherish the freedom he'll get from not being the focus of all the attack. Interesting to see Green cutting across the ruck a number of times so both he and DCE were playing on the same side allowing DCE to get out wider ... you can see that in Walkers try at the end.

Tom - 20 years old - just phenomenal in attack - give him just the slightest hint of a gap and he squeezes through. The selfish side of me hopes he doesn't get a starting spot in SOO ... I'm not sure if he's ready for the extra workload ... but I think by the time it comes around he'll be irresistable. Also have to put Latrelle Mitchell in this class too.

Api was his usual dynamic best .... running hard and strong defensively.... still not sure if he's the best option and I base that purely on consistency of service to the halves. Will start feeling the heat from the competition if he doesn't bounce out of the blocks in the early game. (Look at the pass from Cullen at dummy half to Green in the Walker try in the highlights).

It's only a trial ... however with the amount of change we've undergone the team is heading in the right direction. We're still a work in progress so toppling the Eels in Round 1 will be a big ask at this stage. Still feel vulnerable defensively especially on the edges - not quite the wall yet, more of a hedge or maybe lattice. Just need some more time playing together.

P.S. Sorry for the clique overload ... just taking it one post at a time.

Yes i get we probably wont make the eight..the comp is chock full of good teams with lots of upside..So ive decided what i want out of 2017 is a few newbies to become regular first graders and no floggings...I just want ticker and passion and next few years a hard assed top 4 team again.

The other thing from last night is we went up 12 nil very quick. We had all the possession and it went our way, when the tide turned we were 18 to 12 down in a matter of 10 to 15 mins. We could easily have lost our bundle after that, and I dare say last year we would have. The excuse of 'it's only a trial' would have been spouted, but as others have said they dug deep and equalised heading into half time.

We had plenty of opportunities last night to cut corners, not put in that extra percent, but we didn't. And Walkers reaction was an absolute highlight when he scored. That's what I want to see as well, as fans we want to see that it means a lot to them, we want to see their passion and excitement. Which is another reason why we take to players like Jake.

Not sure where to post this or if it already has been posted but Tom Wright broke his jaw in the u20's game which is why he didnt play half a game in cup and why Schuster played a full game in cup and not half a game in first grade. He will be out for a couple of months you would think.

@COMMANDER DCE was very quiet. I think Green will definitely be the dominant halves partner and DCE will chime in when he sees an opportunity. I think this can work well, it just needs more involvement from DCE.

Green did a lot of kicking and just overall seemed to steer the ship.

Another point is I thought Tommy was talking a lot more at fullback. Which is a big positive.
DCE was quiet yesterday however in Campbelltown he was very vocal in organising plays. The game yesterday was much quicker than last Saturday so I did not observe him as much.

I'm sure these two matches we just played were trials right? It's as if we've banked 4 points already. Never seen so much excitement over two trial wins. I guess that's what happens after a couple of lean seasons.

Damn .. thar s**t for the poor bloke

I must be a poor judge as I have never been so confident of our team making the 8 and pushing a top 4

I also think that NZ - roosters and parra will make it and sharks will have to turn back on the lights -Canberra and the Viking clap will get the clap - the dogs have lost the bite and the broncs will be bucked and will be the teams to drop out

Bottom 4
Dragoons
Drug castle
Tits
?????

And just to get the multi up to 225-1
Manly to play warriors in the GF (with DCE kicking a left footed field goal after the bell to win )

Great to hear that the Workers are doing so well, players below putting pressure on players above cannot be a bad thing.

As long as Twenty has the balls to change around if it's not working, that part remains to be seen.

I'm like @Ryan , don't know that I'm " ****ing excited" but I'm certainly looking forward to round 1.

If we lose , BUT, have a red hot dig I'll still be happy.

None of this " giving up and getting rolled by 30" crap from 2016 please.

If we beat the Squeals, watch out Mrs T as I'll have a stiffy you can't jump over!!
