players Des has dropped

Not many spring to mind.
I think Travis Burns was dropped, after being given a good run at the 5/8 spot. A terrier in defence but didn't offer too much skill in attack.
Any others? Monaghan was effectively dropped as half when Orford was recruited.
A few times a player lost his spot through injury or suspension and couldn't win it back. Maybe Willo and Cuthbo were in that situation, can't quite remember. More recently Suli. And Walker. And Siro and Jetski, after missing most of the season.
Can't think of many who were simply dropped for performances by Des over the years.

In my experience Des does not accept players who can’t defend (hence why Suli was let go) so we could see Harper sent back to Blacktown to work on this area of his game.

No not dropped to reserve grade. Bani had the wing spot for the first few games in 2008 but hurt his neck and by the time he was fit later that year Wolfman had well and truly nailed down the spot.

No he wasn't dropped either. We got him part way through 2009 and he played mostly centre. In 2010 he played fullback where he was obviously filling in for the injured superstar Brett Stewart. Ben left the club at the end of that year.

Yes good point, he was tried for a 6 games at 5/8, then 'rested', then DCE got hurt and he had 3 games at half, but when DCE came back Cust held onto the 5/8 spot. So yep I'd agree he's a player who was dropped.

I wouldn't count Sipley as dropped because he's never really held down the spot. He's been promoted for certain games but has only ever been a fringe regular in our 17.

I'd put Jorge in the category of players who miss a lot of games through injury and by the time they are fit someone else has taken their spot.
Not quite the same as being an established member of the side who one day is simply not selected and sent back to reggies, ie dropped!

Harper is dead man walking. At full compliment koula, tippytoes will take his spot , its just a matter of time.

I think injuries are a big factor as we play the effort game and so rarely have choice

Yep a long time ago 🙂
He played 2005 right through till the finals but only played once in 2006 as a late season replacement. Not sure of the circumstances but if he wasn't injured (?) then yes I guess is getting dropped
