PM had lunch with jailed porn king:
report By 7News
The Prime Minister is facing new political pressure over reports he attended a fundraising lunch with a Brisbane pornography millionaire, who has since been jailed.
The Federal Opposition today attacked Mr Howard over the reported presence of Scott Phillips at the lunch in 2004.
Mr Phillips was jailed last year after pleading guilty to violent crimes and had already been charged at the time of the lunch.
Brisbane's Courier Mail reported Mr Phillips was a late inclusion among 20 guests at the gathering to raise funds for then Liberal candidate Andrew Laming.
Mr Laming has been facing his own problems after police raided his offices as part of an investigation into the use of politicians' printing allowances.
The Opposition today claimed Mr Howard had a case to answer, after the government's own attacks on Labor leader Kevin Rudd and his meetings with disgraced West Australian Premier Brian Burke.
"These are allegations in the paper this morning," Shadow Treasurer Wayne Swan said.
"The Prime Minister's got an explanation to give, to uphold the standard that he set."
The newspaper claimed the meeting took place at the Sirromet Winery at Mt Cotton, Queensland, in July 2004.
Guests reportedly paid about $2000 to attend the lunch.
Mr Phillips, who made his fortune from pornographic websites, pleaded guilty in April 2006 to charges including torture, robbery and grievous bodily harm against two people he believed were behind a 2002 burglary at his home.
