In a small corner of the sports pages in the Herald, the ex-CEO of the Sea Eagles, who left to return to the ARU has been 'allowed' to leave.

The snippet hints that he was not a favourite of John O'Neill, explaining the parting of ways.
 
Today's Herald insists it was "amicable". Which probably mean, "you're excess baggage from a previous regime, so fall on your sword before I chop your head off".
