It is such an advantage in the new form of the game to have a half who can read the play and has a good short kicking game. Moses is killing us. Cherry’s one attempt to find the in goal really should have been a runaway try to the Eels.

the Eels seem to be getting better than the rub of the green when it comes to 6 again calls.

Dumb footy all around. Parra have schooled us with their kicking game. Chez needs to take control of the 5th tackle options. We are tired and need to play a lot smarter or we could lose by 30

He needs to ****ing take the last kicks not siro or turbo..... or just run into the line on 5th and hand it over.. fark he does my head in. The new rules have been OK so far. But what they have done is open up how refs can have a lot more influence on the way the games go than the players.

Discipline is the word. We are in this game!! I love Tommy Turbo to the core but two crucial errors have really hurt us in the last 10 mintues of that half. The kick to no one that goes dead, seven tackle restart, goal line drop out and they score, then a miracle pass gone wrong, turn over and they score in the last play of the half on the back of yet another restart. These mistakes are the difference. They have had all the quality ball an inevitable penalties and restarts, our defence did really well. Again we have not done enough with the ball, got no resets and our halves must run the game when we get up there. Twice caught on the last tackle when the kick into the in goal is the option. Its early season and this is something that the team must do to trouble the top sides.

Walker needs to learn to kick if he wants to play 5/8. Twice he ran on the last when we needed a repeat set

I said to our son they would score on half time. Why not captain challenge that Tommy pass? He through it back he knew it.

Thought the same thing, dowdz. Nothing to lose with a challenge there. Probably could have even challenged the knock-on call that gave them the scrum. And then to give up a soft try right on the bell - terrible.
What ****s me is the set restarts the ref gives the Eels - no idea why - and we can't buy one even when their hands are all over the ball trying (successfully, too) to slow us down.
Even with that crap going against us, we had some chances to get some momentum going back our way and blew them all. Disappointing.

Those extra sets are such a s*** rule. It’s so inconsistent. From what I’ve seen tonight no side should have one against them. It just makes the contest one sided. We need a run of them early or this game is over

Well that was exactly how I thought it would pan out.

Parra just had way too much ball in that first 10.

they are being gifted this game.. we are going ok but think this could get ugly in the second half if we are not careful.

Need to build pressure up their end with repeat sets.
