Yeah go further & his hand is firmly on the ball before he grounds it.....show the full image not just the section where his hand was off the ball!
If you lose contact with the ball you can't recover it by only making contact before grounding, you must "regain control". IMO Walkers try was as much a no try as Garricks was a try.

The obvious answer to this is to get the touchies to run faster..... no more forward passes
My b-i-law's suggestion is to have four touch judges, each patrolling from halfway to the try line. This would be helpful for line kicks, forty twenties etc. but I don't think it would help with forward passes, where there is so much room for human error - seems technology should be the final adjudicator

danger game on Thursday night

we can't give them a sniff , they will be motivated.

whats the bet the broncos in the past 2 games have had no real decent ball or calls go there way .. easts and parra.

playing us it will be another stich up.. we wont get anything again going our way in relation to penalties and six again go calls.

if we are slightly off our game which after Saturday could very easily happen Broncos could be with a chance.

we should win by 20+ but could be alot closer

And the parra one, fumbled by Evans? Was it Evans.?
Yep it was probably a knock on also. My point is these are just as bad, if not worse than the Garrick no try but no one is howling about these. The timing of the final call is what has sent us into a frenzy. If it happened in the first half, it wouldn't have been so painful. I agree that we were duded but as the emotion wears off I'm seeing the bigger picture. Fact is our 5th tackle options were the reason we needed a last second miracle anyway.

Just saw an angle of the Walker try that shows clear separation before he grounds it. The refs giveth and the refs taketh away. Bottom line is they need to be better for 80min and we all know they can be.
I really don't care too much about this as the result is banked and we are moving on to next game. Nevertheless, that pic posted to imply separation of Walker's hand from the ball in the act of scoring... I don't get it. I see his palm off the ball, but I cannot, for the life of me, see separation from his fingers (specifically, his pinky and ring finger). There is zero colour/texture/differentiation that I can see. His fingers merge with the image of the ball. So, where is the separation?

May have been raised already but I just re-watched the opening minutes to see how the Eels got to dominate early possession (began with high contact from Joel in first set). About 2 or 3 minutes in Jorge catches a bomb for our first possession, slips to the ground in juggling it, and is lying on his back when Gutho (?) wrestles the ball from his grasp and is allowed to run off and start a new set for the Eels. How was that not a completed tackle as soon as Jorge was touched while lying on the ground? Should have been a penalty to Manly!

and in goal touch judges too

You have regained control of the ball if your hand is re-attached to the ball prior to it being grounded.
A player who has had possession or touches/touched the ball and knocks the ball forward must regain possession (catch, hold or grip) prior to the ball hitting the ground, another player, goal post or cross bar.
Straight copy paste from the rule book, notice the lack of touch or make contact with.

Yep, but what this doesn't say or spell out is if you have the ball and it moves/separates from the palm of your hand whilst touching your fingers it's not deemed a knock on or lost possession.

Fair enough, if his pinkie finger nail never actually lost contact then it was a fair try. TBH I was just looking for something to help me build a bridge and get over it, because I know holding on to the negativity I was holding onto on Saturday night was not healthy.

And how many times every week is this rule not fully applied? Many.
