Thanks for the video it shows a carbon copy of Tom's legal pass
Yes, the last example is when the passer's progress is impeded by a tackler. There is the illusion the pass is forward, but it isn't because the passer has not thrown the ball forward.

Edit: I think the rules should be changed to allow a captain's call on forward passes.

Just saw an angle of the Walker try that shows clear separation before he grounds it. The refs giveth and the refs taketh away. Bottom line is they need to be better for 80min and we all know they can be.
There’s separation but his hand is on the ball before & when he grounds it therefore correct decision of try! Also if you’re going to talk about incorrect try decisions then talk about Kane Evans try when the ball came loose before grounding & it was given as a try!

I’ve just watched that video done by Rugby on forward passes and have a new appreciation of the dynamics.

As long as the player is in front of the player receiving the ball and as long as the pass is propelled backwards by the original passer of the ball then the ball isn’t a forward pass, even if the ball continues moving forward with momentum.

We can’t blame the touchie they make on the spot decisions , we can’t blame the ref they also make those same decisions.

BUT

When we have the technology ( vision) and that can’t be referenced to adjudicate and check , then that’s a travesty.

Now for the Broncos who by the way are going to be very very fired up after last games 59-0 drubbing.

You and the linesman are goth geese.
Tom is not running a parallel straight line, Toms hands are not being shown from a "directly" in line of the play "fixed camera", the distance of the pass is less---i could go on.

Obviously the linesman having the best view in the house means nothing, best fixed position relative to the passer with a human viewing resolution of 576 megapixels, compared to a non fixed position behind the play camera with an at best resolution of 4k(maybe 8k downscaled not sure)

I've seen it before and i'm sure many other fans also, sitting in the crowd being directly in line with a pass and seeing it obviously being forward but no-one else in the crowd bats an eyelid.

Ref or Linesman in perfect position to adjudicate any call i will back them more often than not, not in a perfect position have no problem calling their decision making out.

One thing for is we wont be slacking off against the broncos. Boys will be fired up for a big win so no goose touchie can rob us.

Hey no worries.
You're very persistent with your point though.
So i don't have the right of reply? just stating a differing point of view in favour of backing Refs and Linesman in certain situations when they have the best view and that i think the pass was forward---i never once stated "this is fact".

Never once denied the law of physics, i just think it is sometimes overly applied in far too many instances and if a linesman/woman is in line back them.

The linesman is made out to be someone who should of "played it safe" applied the momentum rule to the pass over what he believes he viewed in the moment at a perfect viewing position.

I wouldn’t take the Donkeys on Thursday as a guaranteed win.

They’ve been utter tripe BUT after 59-0 they will have a siege mentality.

Plus they get a few back this week.

It’s not going to be easy.

I don't want to argue with you at all.
You're insistent and persistent with your point of view and are entitled to that point of view. And you seem to like sharing it.
My point of view is, and always will be, we were robbed!
Filthy cheats!
Go Manly!

That's an understatement!
The Technical Coach doth protest too much, methinks ;)
What will be embarrassing to see(and it is guaranteed to happen as it always does) is when a similar play occurs with Manly defending all the fans here will be up in arms with "it was a mile forward" and that the refs are "all against Manly", or "this instance is different to the Tom pass" etc etc.

All good not out to change your opinion, just merely replying to a post you replied to.

Good grief! I feel so sorry for your wife.
