I confess I literally turned it off when TKO got sent. Had no idea what he was binned for but it was more that I suddenly had a sinking feeling that Panthers with all the momentum would run away with it and ...and ... I don't enjoy watching anymore when that happens.
And this after being quite confident all week and tipping Manly!
But 10 min later I relented and picked up the replay where I'd left off, and watched the rest.
And enjoyed it! Like Seibs, I was proud how they played!
It might be covered elsewhere, but how the hell does TKO go to the bin for a shoulder charge, but Yeo stays on for a swinging arm across Tom’s nose? And I am sure earlier in the game the ref specifically said to Cleary that the reason someone was only penalised and not sent to the bin was because it was a shoulder charge, not a head shot.

Simpkin at 9 was great. He’s a keeper. Bull always good. Ben T gradually getting better. TKO was immense. What the f was that sin bin? Sigh..Jazz was good. Navale shows promise. DCE good with the occasional WTF s …Good to see Tommy Talau again. Side seems stronger with him. Roobs good. Lehi too. Koula has his moments. Ola best forward since the Beaver. Fantastic! Tom T is a winner. As someone else said, it’s his team now.

A.) because Yeo is a protected species
B.) because of the new NRL rule that says you can do anything up to and including decapitation and not go the the bin if you already have a man in the bin (Alamoti in the Panfers case).

Quite a few comments on here about the ref. Some are sexist but mostly the comments show an ignorance of how the game is refereed.

All of the sin bins including the ridiculously late Takeiaho one are called by the video ref, who last night was Ashley Klein.

The 40:20 decision was made by the touch judge who put up his flag. And Klein did not overrule it.

In general I thought her calls on offside and 6 agains were fine.

The mayhem decisions were all directed from the bunker.

Great win and performance but terrible refereeing and the biased commentary from vossy was putrid, talking about being putrid was the TKO sin bin which I still haven't seen an angle of any head contact but Yeo hits Tommy flush on the head and just on report?? and yes he is falling but they are still sin binning other players who have been in that situation and normally say "there is mitigating circumstances but it's still contact to the head" There is just no consistency. Okay so no sin bin but he doesn't even get a charge from the judiciary?? WTF!! Are they cracking down this week on purpose so they can say they got it wrong and so the sin bin crackdown magically disappears in magic round (no pun intended) so they can get the spectacle they want with the big shots and more free flowing games. One last thing while I'm here, I loved our team lineup and completely agree that should be a look into our future team lineup but I can guarantee you that seibold will put all our regulars back in there spots when they come back, which will be so frustrating.

Just watching the replay now and your take is spot on. The on-field calls were fine and the game flowed, until the bunker repeatedly intervened.

I actually felt sympathetic for her because it almost came off as white-anting. No I'm not being woke, I'm just calling it how I saw it.

The benefits of the bunker are obvious but I feel like there's so little control the on-field refs have with their calls that it's becoming an issue. Tries awarded then overturned, sin bins a set later... **** sake just let the ref make a call.

They've gotta cut out this **** where they randomly stop the game to address some earlier foul play, especially when the recipient of said foul play doesn't even react. How about we just charge them when the MRC assesses it after, like they already do now.

It's feels like the game is being reffed by arm-chair experts, and if it is - the Silvertails brainstrust is clearly more qualified than these guys.

Absolutely baffling that Yeo didn't cop a charge from the MRC. Not even a fine, nothing.
I know right, I thought I was angry enough that there wasn't a sin bin but look this morning and he hasn't even been charged, like you said... not even a fine?? WTF

Some may say it is actually sexist to not criticise a female referee, as it implies they are in need of special treatment. I will agree Klein also had a shocker, but I think his reversal of the ridiculous penalty against Tom’s hip for attacking the head of an attacker was entirely justified.

Don’t dismiss criticism against a female as sexist. People are entitled to criticise her just like we would and do, a male ref. She made a couple of howlers last night including two head high penalties that were challenged and overruled by the bunker CORRECTLY! So no, she wasn’t blameless and it wasn’t a good performance. And we’re entitled to say so whether she’s female or not. Having said that, much of the confusion the refs have with what is a penalty, what is a sin bin, what’s play on etc has been created by the NRL and their policies.
