From the 'NRL Casualty Ward - All the Latest Injury News, Updates & Returns Details' web page, Here is the Latest NRL Injured or Unavailable Update:

* * * (Updated: Friday, 07 Apr 2023) * * *

The Sea Eagles have been forced into a backline reshuffle for their clash against the Panthers with five-eighth Josh Schuster failing to recover from a quad injury.

"We pulled Josh out of training on Wednesday evening, still feeling his quad a little bit, so we won't risk him," Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold said on Friday.

"It's been a frustrating start for him, but it's a long year and we didn't want to do any more damage to the injury. If he injures it more it could blow out from a 1-2 week injury to four or five weeks."

Manly will also be without Christian Tuipulotu (knee) and Ben Trbojevic (hamstring), but welcome back star winger Jason Saab, who hasn't played since injuring his ACL in Round 22 last year against the Titans.

Manly Sea Eagles
  • Jason Saab (Knee, Round 6)
  • Josh Schuster (Quad, Round 7-8)
  • Christian Tuipulotu (Knee, Round 9)
  • Tolutau Koula (Knee, Round 9-11)
  • Ben Trbojevic (Hamstring, Round 12)

Also, from the NRL Casualty Ward, Manly hub page, there are slight variations to the information regarding the unavailable or injured players and their return periods:

  • Josh Schuster (Quad, Round 7)
  • Christian Tuipulotu (Knee, Round 9)
  • Tolutau Koula (Knee, Round 10)
  • Ben Trbojevic (Hamstring, Round 12)

From the 'NRL Casualty Ward - All the Latest Injury News, Updates & Returns Details' web page, Here is the Latest NRL Injured or Unavailable Update:

* * * (Updated: Saturday, 01 Apr 2023) * * *

In Mudgee on Saturday, Sea Eagles winger Christian Tuiplulotu suffered a knee injury and looked like sitting out the second half but he was sent back into the game with 25 minutes to play when Ben Trbojevic suffered a suspected hamstring injury.

Sea Eagles five-eighth Josh Schuster missed the clash with Newcastle after succumbing to a quad injury he suffered against the Rabbitohs, adding to Manly's woes after Tolu Koula (knee) was ruled out for 4-6 weeks.

Manly Sea Eagles
  • Josh Schuster (Quad, TBC)
  • Christian Tuipulotu (Knee, TBC)
  • Ben Trbojevic (Hamstring, TBC)
  • Jamie Humphreys (Jaw, Round 6)
  • Tolutau Koula (Knee, Round 9-11)
  • Jason Saab (Knee, Mid-Season)

Also, from the NRL Casualty Ward, Manly hub page, there are slight variations to the information regarding the unavailable or injured players and their return periods:

  • Lachlan Croker (Shoulder, Round 6)
  • Tolutau Koula (Knee, Round 10)
  • Josh Schuster (Quad, TBC)
  • Ben Trbojevic (Hamstring, TBC)
  • Christian Tuipulotu (Knee, TBC)
  • Jason Saab (Knee, Indefinite)

Thanks for for positing this so quick we appreciate you doing this evey week.

Now onto the game I shudder to think what Panthers will do to us next Saturday ( Easter saturday).

We are going to have to improve 1000% or we are in for a very very long night.

Early stages but Panthers by 26.

It’ll go one of two ways.

We’ll implode and it’ll be a cricket score.

We’ll surprise them and make a game of it but still losing.

Cannot see a win.
I'd like it to be a win for us.
But if it ends up as a loss I hope they at least put in an effort that we can be proud of.
Feels like we slipped back into old habits today.
Josh A talked about accountability after the loss to Souths - plenty of players will need to own their part in today's loss. Curious to see how it unfolds next week.

Ok I'm going on record here, anyone who thinks weekes will play centre or wing will be very disappointed!

It's evident the coaches see him as a #1, 6 and 9 only... they had the chance to get him on earlier today and opted not to....

I've said this for a while now but we are light on quality wingers in our squad and I for one and concerned about our backline for the next 4-5 rounds until koula and Saab are back!

I wouldn’t mind seeing him at the back with Turbo at right centre for 20 -30 minutes.

Option 1 is my guess
If they put 50 on raiders then when are in for a very long night.

Can anyone remember the last time Manly won at Penrith? I can't!
We'll be underdogs so will probably play really well, would be great to pinch an upset win. We could try just basing it on guts and effort, that's worked for teams in the past (!)
Lawton in for Burbo
Ray for Christian
Schu for Johns
Hopefully Crokes and the others are good to play.

RV is not a nrl player !

My team for next week (whilst Turbo keeps playing @ 80%) -
Weekes
Garrick
Turbo
Parker

Schuster
DCE
Big A
Big K
Big H
Paseka
Croker
Jurbo

Bullemore
Lawman/GKCT ( if graded in Top 30)
Keppie (last chance)/ Woodsy
Sipley / Samuela

@Woodsie - the first few pages of this thread may be a more accurate representation of the ST feelings than your poss/neg poll!!!

Hahaha ... well, all they have to do is go into the Optimism thread and change their vote ...

But it is strange considering we are coming 3rd ... and only lost one game ALL year ... and that by only one point ...
