Our Team Next Season

Re Foran I mean.
I am always optimistic re Manly. Missing 2005-2015 era when we just went out there and gave it everything. Couple of signings away from a good squad
Oh, carry on, nothing to see here. I'm not the brightest spark !

Looks pretty amazing:

01. Tom Trbojevic
02. Jorge Taufua
03. Brian Kelly
04. Dylan Walker
05. Moses Suli
06. New Recruit
07. Daly Cherry-Evans
08. Addin Fonua-Blake
09. Apisai Koroisou
10. Marty Taupau
11. Joel Thompson
12. Curtis Sironen
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Tom Wright
15. Taniela Paseka
16. Kelepi Tanginoa
17. Shaun Lane

X Jonathan Wright (Retires)
X Lewis Brown (Unknown)
X Akuila Uate (Panthers)
X Jackson Hastings (Unknown)
X Jack Gosi (Rabbits)
X Matthew Wright (Released)
X Lachlan Croker (Unsigned)

I'm sure there's plenty of fat in the cap to accommodate a very good 5/8. Maybe enough to offer Foran a return home.

Him in the team makes us a premiership threat.
I don’t mind a good ole yart..

With respect that 3/4 line is simply not good enough.

I doubt Perrett and AFB will cut it under the new rules. The lean and lanky forwards will be favoured.

edit: I have just been convinced otherwise re AFB. He is a keeper, hopefully Perrett is too.
Im pleased you didnt change your tune Bob when you sang hurricane , its one of my favorites. jeez.

Good bones mate for sure!! I reckon by the end of the season Dylan will be a world beating number 6 and Kelly will make centre his own. Or wing and Loko comes up. Jorge takes back his wing spot. Sipley gets a few good runs and proves to be first grade material. Perrett finds something within himself ... looks good 🙂

Ahh forgot about Jorgey boy!!

I'm actually really looking forward to Jorge getting back on the paddock in a couple of weeks, I realise the lose of a winger can't be used as an excuse for losing games but the guys a beast with the ball in his hands. Also Sulli can only continue to improve with match fitess and should be able to contribute more with helping to get us out of our own end.

Completely agree mate, the only thing is unfortunately I find myself saying ‘I’m looking forward to Jorge getting back’ far too often. The poor bloke has spent at least 1/3 of the season on the sidelines the past three seasons. Needs some luck.

So, looks like no-one wants to re-sign Croker?
A bit tough as he was playing his best game just before doing his knee.
Of course he'd be an injury risk but he would certainly come cheap!

Our defence may get slightly worse from only having 10 players on the field and 2 on the bench. Otherwise looks a good side.

Even before you remember that Croker has now had 3 ACL injuries and he's only 21.....he didn't exactly set the world on fire with his performances this year. That combined with his knees wouldn't exactly have clubs scrambling for his signature.

It's pretty rough to go from being an Australian school boy's rep to being washed up at only 21....I hope there's still an opportunity for him somewhere.

Just heard a report that the Bulldogs are considering shopping Moses Mybe around for next season and even prepared to perhaps pay some of his freight . Talented player but whether he could compliment D C E 's style of play i guess would be another matter . Does not seem to be that many suitable half "s options out there to suit Manly "s present requirements but just some added interest if Mybe does go onto the open market and does receive some attention from Manly for a possible half"s position [ unless Walker can somehow fill that void into the future and with his still good value to offer as a centre for Manly ]

I get a little nervous about some of these partially paid players from other clubs because they are mostly offloading someone who hasn't reached there potential and it often comes back to bite us when their wages become full freight... 300k to 400k for a boon up an comer appeals to me more.

After last nights game (and the season so far in fact), I would go ask Benji Marshall if he wants an extra season of NRL!
BM is playing like BK did for us during the Manly revival. Ben Kennedy was told he was busted and other clubs didn’t think we would get so much leadership and inspiration but Benji is doing the same thing at the Tigers and they already have Luke Brooks and Josh Reynolds next year.
It wouldn’t happen but he’d be a good partner for Chez.
Otherwise I’m sure another half with get disgruntled with their club before seasons end. It would be good if we picked up someone whose salary is half paid for by another club. The bulldogs have bigger cap concerns than us next year so let’s see who else might jump out, plenty of time to sort out next year, it’s not even Origin time yet

Understand your sentiments but does"t seem to be that many appealing and available half"s options out there . Maybe Tom Wright can soon show and offer the maturity and composure to have a crack as a feasible 5 / 8 contender for Manly [ and again if Walker is not now seen as the longer term consideration ]

And remember all those posts calling Wayne Bennett an old fool for signing him last year ........
