Our rookie coach shows his nervous hand early

Why put a near full strength side out for a poxy trial, risking big time injuries to key players? No coach in their right mind none does that. McGuire is too wily and experienced - na he puts out a weakened side to give some young guys a run.
Barrett is massively nervous - it reeks of that. This is a really bad sign.

I agree we need to hit the ground running with all this home games in the first 7 rounds - last year was a disaster at the start playing Ipswich (who had lost most of their better players from 2015) and playing the chooks from memory for about 20 mins

Look last year was an absolute disaster - we were low on confidence, had zero self belief and the results spoke for themselves. We've got a lot of fresh talent in the squad in 2017 and the signs are already encouraging that some are gonna step up. The Nines has given us all a little hope. Now let's say we send out a crap team against Souths and get pumped... don't forget momentum is an important thing in sport - we should win and win pretty well with that team and winning is contagious..Let's keep things positive because as has been said we need to start well with the favourable draw and getting pumped badly in any games atm is not gonna do us an ounce of good.

The same McGuire who won the sevens two years ago? We had a few blokes who are walk up starts. Probably only walker by the way people are discussing things here. Get your hand off it and put it around a beer. It's a month til the season starts.

What have the star players been doing all pre se

What are you talking about?
Mate I don't have time to spell it out. Barra on the bite.

Michael McGuire the Souths coach? You used him as part of your argument. And only Dylan Walker from the side taken to the nines is garunteed a starting spot in this years team. Tapau maybe.

Barrett names a top strength squad = booooo, players will get injured, barrett has nfi.

Barrett names a team stacked with youngsters = booooo, we need to work on starting combinations...barrett has nfi

I sincerely hope the poor bastard doesnt read this forum.
The constant negativity is tiresome.

I'm sure he would probably look at some of the "insights" and laugh at them like most of us.

The players could get injured training, jeez players get injured tripping over their kids at home. We can't wrap everyone and everything in cotton wool.

No problem with Barrett naming a fuller strength team. In fact I'm thinking maybe we could all give Barrett a little support?

I get nervous when they send out a good side , but in reality we are 2 trials from kickoff . Dce and green need combo's to get us kick started for round 1 . If my memory hasn't lapsed ,we didn't run a near full strength team out last season ( understand injuries to some ) and look what happened against the dogs . As nerve tingling as this might be it will benefit us for the run .
