Other Games [Round 16, 2021]

I agree but seriously if parra can't take advantage of Panthers without Nathan then they never will do any damage in September.

I agree also re about Moses
Without Nathan, plus origin players backing up and at basically a neutral venue without a crowd. Put Nathan in and the crowd and Penrith prob win by 50!

Good stuff from Api. Knew he had to stand up without Nathan. How pitiful was Shaun Lane, when Api, off a standing start, just breezes past him.
Luai should be NSW half. Moses blew any chance he had.

Squeel fans love him too, off their pages

New Zealand Warriors.....

Turning snatching defeat from the jaws of victory into an art form since 1995.

Ahhh...poop!

I'd tipped them but before I went to sleep last night I was trying to convince myself to change to the Dragons, but wussed out.

I'm sure Matt lodge will fix all!

Sounds like the highlights package is worth looking at!

Why wasn't Maguire penalized for karate chopping AFB ???
Townsend with the field goal wins stupidest play of the week

12 ahead with 9 to play is not a good game to lose.

Also..yeah...that field goal attempt? wtf was that about?

Guessing it was more about winding the clock down and getting the ball back?

??

Thats why Moses shouldnt play Origin...flat track bully

If I was looking at that game as a Blues selector ... Mitchell Moses failed his audition.

No Cleary tonight and he had the chance to own that game, and he failed.

Mitchell Loses

He's pathetic, no imagination in attack only the bomb, he's a myth and a choker

Reading on here about the failed moses, then went to foxsports and a george clarke wrote:

As far as Origin auditions go, this wasn’t a classic from Moses.
He did just enough to put himself firmly in the conversation for a NSW call-up.
Moses kicked well, played with poise and asked the right questions of Penrith on Friday.
There were no flash passes or anything out of the box. By the same token he did very little to suggest he would look out of place in Origin III.

So... lol. good to have friends?

edit: This isn't me "doing the multi-quote" , I just thought the was interesting you all thought moses was rubbish but he has a fan in the media, apparently. Freddy also came out and said that game wont harm his chances regarding origin...then again his chances may be zero!

I thought the rule for a player being tackled (amongst other things) was that if their ball carrying hand is on the ground, and an opposition player is touching them then they are deemed tackled.

If that's the case then Parra's first try by Sivo was a dud call. Even though the second guy in slid on past, his hand was on him when sivo's ball carrying hand was on the turf.

Or has the rule changed?

The issue there is that the Panthers defenders fell off him. With no one touching him, unfortunately Sivo had every right to get up and keep going.

Thanks, I just always thought if the ball carrying arm was on the ground and someone put a finger on him, even for a second, it was tackled.

But ok. You've gotta tackle and keep a hand on

(get yer hand off it , ge...)

edit:

TACKLE AND PLAY THE BALL
A player in possession is tackled:

Grounded a. ‘when he is held by one or more opposing players and the ball or the hand or arm holding the ball comes into contact with the ground.’

Upright b. ‘when he is held by one or more opposing players in such a manner that he can make no further progress and cannot part with the ball.’

Succumbing c. ‘when, being held by an opponent, the tackled player makes it evident that he has succumbed* to the tackle and wishes to be released in order to play-the-ball.’ *succumb includes a player in possession being lifted off the ground and resulting in the calling of held by the Referee

Hand on player d. ‘when he is lying on the ground and an opponent places a hand on him.’

So as per 'a' above, falling off the player isn't held.

ok then. thanks again @HoldenV8 🙂

Read this morning Brown said Townsend thought they were only 6 up at the time of his field goal attempt.
Also read he had multiple needles at half time to keep playing after a " bad knock"

How off his tree was he ?
I wonder if it was a head knock ?
Needle him up....

Gotta love the drugs!

OMG, the Raiders are having a shocker.

Fifita in the bin for 10 minutes and the Raiders have let in 2 converted tries.
