Dragons star Jack Bird can count himself lucky after escaping without a charge from the match review committee for his hip drop tackle on Cowboys prop Jordan McLean.

The incident in the 59th minute of the Dragons’ 31-12 loss to the Cowboys saw Bird pull down on top of McLean’s right leg after leaving his feet, with the Cowboys star getting up clutching at his knee.

Much as I hate both these sides, I think we need the Storm to get up, we need the Chooks, the Sharkies and Vermin to be dropping games, Vermin got up and what chance the warriors rolling the Sharks? Answer not much. So hopefully the chooks stumble in the second half, actually be happy if they physically get stuck into each other. Looks like Keary’s gone.
