one area Manly must improve in 2025

More room for Koula Shaker would be nice, but really, if we're serious about being premiership contenders, we need to fix the right side of our defence. Then we need to fix the left side. Then we need to hit the tackle bags, over and over again.

We have to learn how to play without the ball. Standing around and watching the other team score and then thinking it'll all work out because we'll just outscore them when we get the ball back is not a recipe for longterm success.

Because of Google I keep seeing some of the greatest Manyl Premiership winning teams score some amazing trys.

The games changed over the years. But one thing that stands out across decades is how great our support play is when we win Premierships.

Manly has as long as I can remember been an attacking team. We still are of sorts. There's a difference between hit and hope, and having more bodies in motion if you get my drift.

I think it is as simple as improving that defence.
And improving bodies in motion, and players staying alive.

Our hooker is the key, it all starts from our pass selection and delivery. Croker is a hooker in the way Ballin was, which is a tacklebot. The difference is Matt Ballin had really great vision and provided top tier service which Croker lacks, but not through a lack of effort.

I've come around to the realisation that we aren't going to the next level unless we can add some spark from the play the ball. GCKT is the closest thing we have to a potential break out player in this regard however, I think his ship has sailed especially with the signing of Simpkin.

Idk feels wrong to critique Froggy like this but if we're being objective this isn't news to anyone who's been paying attention unfortunately.

Look when Lyon got space and time to run.
Koula ain't Jamie but the principal is the same. We've all seen him go, question for me is: does semibold have it in him to get us playing ABOVE our ability?
I'm 50/50.
