NRL ranks clubs financial performance

I keep saying this and it is a true fact
The Greatest asset on any Organisation is the Great people it invests in
How Great are we at the moment ?
Mr Penn once famously said It is a results driven business
end quote ,
Yes it is a results driven business on and off the field and all are accountable including himself, and Our clubs financial standing will not change unless we see changes in ideas or Personnel

A quote from American CEO Jack Welch who increased his organisations market value from 12billion to 410 billion when he retired
GETTING THE RIGHT PEOPLE IN THE RIGHT JOB
IS ALOT MORE IMPORTANT THAN DEVELOPING A STRATEGY
End Quote

People do matter

Just an observation, but Mestrov seems a big step up from our last decade of CEO's. Humprey's seem alright, before he stepped on his d#$k.

But big Tony fits like comfy undies and is getting **** done.

We have a difference of opinion on our coaching staff ATM, but time will tell.

On field success and the quality of our cattle matters. Third party sponsorships absolutely matter.

You would think ticket sales and corporate revenue make up a big part of $ in.

Sadly it may be as simple as needing to increase the number of people Brooky can accommodate or perish.

I once sang this tune. But private ownership that turns its back on community when it suits and sucks from the pond when it also suits is not a good model

Penn wades in and out of issues like its a personal toy .How many CEO’s did he hire and fire . What does that do for bottom line

the fulton sagas, the media good sort man.

Isnt here any guarantee that more community funds wont just shrink penns input and we still are paupers in comparison

We chose not to pay out stewie and matai which screwed 2 seasons . Jerseygate killed another, des and toovey killed more

BUT How many shares has the footy club bought in the last 10 years. That was the dream

I would gladly give manly money, not penn and its hard to see a distinction these days
You’re not giving money to Penn. yes he’s the owner, but the club is the club - he’s the custodian. And if you live and breathe the club like many of us do, then the Best way to show it Is to be a member. You actually get something for it. It’s not a donation. When it comes down to it, if they have to decide on what team to cut (if that’s a decision they make) then the team with the least support would surely be the first in line. If you want to keep our club one way you can help is by being a member of some sort. BTW I’m not some kind of staff member or club plant. Just passionate about our club and would hate to think we’d ever be cut from the league.

There seems very little value to season ticket holders (as they take games away from Brooky for the $$$$).
It’s the same ‘value’ that’s it’s been for years now. 10 home games a year. You can get a full season membership for around $250. $25 a game is much cheaper than you’ll get it walking up to the gate.

You think the Sea Eagles is a club? Which Sea Eagles?

Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles Limited (’The Sea Eagles’) is a privately owned family company, in which the Manly-Warringah Rugby League Football Club (‘The Football Club’) is a minority shareholder. The Football Club was the entity that ran the operation up until privatisation in 2004.

As members we of course know whether or not our club has a constitution. And we can access a copy, to know what rights and obligations we have as a member. We may have a right to stand for the board, or elect someone else. We may be entitled to an annual report?

Clue – if you are a member of the Sea Eagles you are just buying admission to games, and getting a discount as a ‘preferred customer’ (and usually a cap and a couple of other benefits).

If you are a member of the Football Club you are not just a dedicated customer but a member of an actual club. I strongly encourage anyone here who is not a member of the Football Club to join!!

(I’m still a Sea Eagles member but only a minimal deal currently. I think in the past I’ve had at least 4 Golden Wings-type top of the range memberships. I don’t mind supporting the side but I don’t consider the Sea Eagles to be a ‘club’)

Not too sure about that. Where does the money go???? Not to Manly Football Club, It goes to Penn Inc. Remember the same company that handed out seperate Life Memberships a few years ago.

Be sure my feathered friend
Our Money does not go to the North Sydney Bears or the Bunnies or the Roosters or the Dragons or the EELs
Our Money contributes to our Beloved Manly club

I prefer thinking it goes to our beloved Manly TEAM. Thats why I pay up. I am a football club member also.

It has really hit home to me over the past 18 months, at aged 56, I will probably never see our team even in a grand final.

In fact it will be a novelty to make the finals once every 4 or 5 years.
This is a depressing thought. You’ve got plenty of time left mate. And plenty of time for the club to get in order. However, it’s hard to imagine a team which currently includes both the NSW and QLD captain more than likely will miss the 8. It started going downhill when the Penn family became majority owners/shareholders.

Bob also suggested that Manly wouldn’t win another game earlier in the season.

That was a few wins ago.

Take the Duke of Dubbo’s predictions with a grain of salt.😉

But I thought this was only a passion project and the owners did not make much money?
(Also pretty sure this excludes the NRL grant again showing how $ there is to be made)
As I have said many many times this is a profitable investment considering the amount spend is relatively low risk - why change?

So the club looks to have to pay out Dessie plenty, jersey gate, the fallout will probably cost the club about 2 years of membership. no Manly fan should have to fork out coin to cover the appalling relationship between Des and Scotty

Private club, private issues, private funds. Its not for you and me to fund this crap, what about the payouts to all the CEO”s and lack of stability

Its not membership holding Manly back its idiots who we cant vote out.

penn has a stink that is very unattractive for Manly customers

That’s fair enough and it’s your right to do whatever you want with your coin. But the bottom line is, from the NRL and from an outsider looking in, it’s all semantics. We have one of, if not the lowest membership rates in the league and that doesn’t bode well for our club. Especially when we also sit so low in the financial standings.
