Lurker has told the world that Taufua & BL have been told by Manly that they could negotiate with other clubs for next year. Evidently Taufua linked to friends in Super League and BL to Newcastle. At least with Luker putting it out there, there is little chance of it happening!

The "Luker" has got it arse about surely. Rumour bj to England and Jorge to Newcastle would make more sense. I suspect both will stay at manly realistically.

Taufua is 24 and has played 110? Games. If his off field crap is in the past the next five years could be his best.
Id be happy to keep him for at least two more years.

I've always been vocal against Jorge in the past with his apparent uninterested look, 50/50 skills etc but this year has really been a breakout year (contract end will do that) but I've nothing but praise for the big unit. Just sign him on a year to year basis!

I think you may be being a little unkind to Jorge with the contract year jibe. I would prefer to think, that as per Baz's coaching video, he has given Jorge and Uate very clear and very precise instructions as to their role in the team dynamic.

Both appear to thrive in knowing what is expected of them, and executing the program.

I don't mind Jorge's nonchalant,(uninterested,in your words)look.I prefer it than the Americanised chest thumping that blokes like Walker carry on with

The most I've seen Jorge smile was when the mascot (Ellie?) got knocked base over apex after manly scored a try this season.

Take Jorge out of tomorrow's team and I guarantee you'll notice his absence. Instead of the forwards starting a set on the front foot beyond our 20m. I think they would be doing a lot more of the hard yards deep in our end which will ultimately sap a lot of their energy. JOrge and Aka have been huge this year.

If Jorge was out it would effect our go forward but i think who ever fills his position will still be taking the early hit ups as per structure. Not to the same effect but still taking the heat off our forwards. Big shoes to fill i agree.

Doesn't surprise me that both Lawrence and Taufua are being rumored to leave at this years end. Manly need a winger who can catch the high ball without having butter figures so I can see the reason why Manly have allowed Taufua to look elsewhere. Lawrence is more the age game where this will be his last contract so he would want to make as much $$$ before he retires. Out of the 2 I would keep Lawrence for 1 more year.. 🙂

One thing that piqued my interest with the Lurker was the comment about a CEO being in the **** for giving fans NRL issued passes to a game. I recall someone mentioning how Leary was outside the stadium in Canberra giving away tickets to the game. So I wonder if this put him in the **** with the club...
